Phosphorus or phosphates is in a lot of foods. My mother this morning would have bought me a sweet ham for my lunch but I stopped her because, you've guessed it, it has an added phosphate for the reason that it makes the meat retains water and makes it juicy when cooked. This is also true for most if not all processed meat including my favorite fish that mother buys in the supermarket, the cream dory meat which we cook as fish fillet because it is tender and no bones and delicious too.

I guess that I also have to sacrifice Little miss cream dory for that matter. But maybe I can use the Tilapia fish fillet since its taste is different than if you fry the whole fish and I have observed that maye because of the tilapia's fish slime that gives it the distinct smell when fried.

As you have noticed, I prefer fish fillet because I do not have to contend with taking the meat from the bone which seems to be easy but not really especially from the little cooked fish dishes as I eat laying down for one reason because I can't eat upright and if I happen to get stabbed in my mouth with those little fish bones, good luck taking that out. I don't also want to stress somebody looking down my mouth especially with this mouth condition that I have.

I also have really sacrifice most processed foods including some packaged cupcake breads, biscuits, some cereal drinks because it has milk. Then The diary products too including the cheeses so I am sad about it. I also love to drink milk and it is in the number one no-no.

Foods high in uric acid is always high in phosphorus like nuts and organ meats like liver which is my favorite as well. Actually there are phosphate binders for these and my good nephrologist isn't prescribing them for me which lead to my medical demise. I just hope that she learned about what happened to me like my nurse who are advising nw my other co-patients to seek an endocrinologist so that their body won't shrink like mine did.

I just trimmed off the grated cheese from that delicious cassava cake given by a friend

It is really hard to have a strict diet, I will just follow a good rule which is to eat as natural as I can since processed foods are bad for health anyway because of the piles of seemingly harmless additives. But those additives if eaten everyday will really affect people's health if taken for a long time which is what is happening really for most people. My diet will not be so strict and i will just try not to eat foods that are high in phosphorus.

All of this could have been prevented if I got informed by the same so-called medical professionals that should have taken care of my condition but I just learned it all by myself like these diets that I should follow. But what is important now is my way to recovery since I have the medicine and the support from #steemit community of family, the possibility of getting me back on my life's tracks is happening. God Help me and God Bless the steemit community.

Eating a whole foods vegan diet can do wonders for the body! It has helped me and many of my loved ones. Not sure if it's something you'd be interested in, but with the internet, there are so many vegan recipes that can "mock" some of your favorite meat and cheese recipes! They are so delicious. Anyway, many blessings to you!

good to here that you're on your way to recovery @cryptopie. take care.

Good luck with your diet, you have our full support ! Bless you :)

Go ahead and I advise you to be careful with soft drinks containing phosphoric acid, pepsi and the like. I know that in other countries it is difficult to get healthy food, unlike Bolivia where organic and natural foods abound. But do not faint and look for these foods, vegetables and fruits can provide equal or better food than the "normal" foods that are easily obtained. Success and blessings.

Yes Coke and Pepsi and alike are notorious for having a bone-weakening phosphoric acid in them.

I understand your struggle! It's hard, especially when so many foods have added phosphates as a preservative. Is the new hospital going to prescribe any binders for you? That would give you a little bit more freedom to at least eat some more foods.

I think I will gonna ask my doctor for a phosphate binder @lizzyib
My nephrologist just tells me to take calcium.

Look into something called Lanthanum, brand name Fosrenol. It is a binder that is not calcium based.

good luck on your strict diet. Juts hard to

Just a little patience, you will be well... Everything is in God's will...
