Dear Diary: I Always Crave for Food

Part of my desire in wanting to have or to eat food is that I cannot cook my favorite recipes anymore. I just missed cooking just any simple dish that I was making for our dinner table everyday and if were easy to get fattened up during my cooking years well I will be fat because of my love for food and cooking dishes.

It really takes years in order to learn cooking. Some people are just not for cooking food, they are the ones that are hard-headed and just wants the food to adjust to them by itself without them doing the necessary things to make some improvements. No matter how good the ingredients were, if the cook will do a bad job, you can never get a better dish that you can enjoy. You are just better off buying your own food.

Trial and error is what it takes in cooking. It just means when you get an error, then you have to learn about it. For example, if your dish gets too salty, then next time put less seasonings when you cook or maybe add more liquid or ingredients to offset the taste. Some non-cooks just does their thing over and over without ever changing or doing something about their dish with of course same unsatisfactory taste.

I can't cook now so sometimes I just make my parents buy some sauteed noodles near our home or some rice gruel. For some special occasion maybe some roasted chicken that can be bought a few blocks near the highway. More often they just buy from 7-11 store because they offer rice dishes there.

What I always crave is just a simple rice bowl dish that I am always having in my dialysis days. It is because it has some gravy in itt and I like the taste too. Dialysis just makes a person so hungry because sugars and protein compounds are also being taken out on the cleaning process thereby making the patient want to eat which also depends on the situation of the patients as well.

Next time I will ask mother to make a Jackfruit or sugar palm nut variant of this rice cake

I didn't realize dialysis makes someone so hungry. I like to cook some nice dishes, too. Take care, my friend.

Yes it does because dialysis washes also the nutrients (water-soluble) from the blood. It includes sugars because when it gets low together with the feeling of being "clean", the patient feels hunger. @wandrnrose7

It is logical. While your body is being cleaned from waste material, it might accelerate your digestion process and you are feeling more hungry.
Question: The first picture is of yourself? It is current status or made with effect?
Why you started to do dialysis in the first place? Renal failure due to hyperparathyroidism?

The first photo was only made with effects. I actually look bad, I have a snout. I look like a Lon.

Mmy hyperparathyroidism is due to complication of being in dialysis for a long time with uncontrolled phosphorus levels in my blood. High phosphorus triggers hyperparathyroidsm.

So what was the first indication for dialysis?

Dialysis also should clear phosphorus, isn't?

My kidneys failed after having them get recurring infections due to my immune system attacking my kidneys.
Dialysis doesn't clear out Phosphorus completely and it is actually a little high in my case. And it has been higher during when I was starting dialysis many years ago so it affected my parathyroid. I was also not getting an adequate healthcare for my condition so it lead unto this.

I know the feeling my friend... I got hit with a hockey puck and broke my jaw- it had to be wired shut. I couldn't eat real food for months! I did learn something- SOUP SUCKS!!!

Wow, how heavy is a hockey puck by the way?

Not all that heavy, maybe 6 oz. But it's very hard frozen rubber.

I hope you get enough to eat to get strong my dear. The ricedish looks good. I like those simple things too.

Whats your favorite food to cook back then?

Minced pork head with onions and ground liver.
Bittered Pork innards in tamarind juice.

The latter was the last dish I had made with me doing some chopping. I had to rest four times my back the during the whole course of the cooking process.

Hahaha well loving nice food, does not mean you must know how to cook.

The tip is, dont put any pressure, slowly and steady and cooking becomes easy.
