RE: Goodbye Instagram, hello Steemit!

FB= waste of time and time=money, therefore spending time in Facebook is equivalent to wasting money. It's fine if you use it to keep up with what your friends are doing, often times it seems all they're doing is posting truly meaningless content like memes and unoriginal inspirational crap. At least his has been my experience.

Since I joined steemit recently I've stayed off of Facebook. I have an instagram account but never really used it much as it just seemed like another time-suck like Facebook. I like that steemit hasn't been inundated with a lot of the useless content I see on the other social media sites although there is a lot to sort through here.

I could spend all day on here if only I had the time...

Well, Steemit can be very time consuming too, especially when you try to understand how that damn thing works!

at this point I'm wondering if it might not be better to stay at my easel ;-)

Painting certainly is more rewarding then messing around with social media. The thing is artists have to be present on these networks today. I think it's better to invest time in this instead of wasting it on facebook & co. You still can share your Steemit posts on fb or anywhere else just by copy/paste (except Instagram of course).

I agree, it would be great to be able to ignore this. I for one could just work and not interact with anybody, as I have done for years. But must stay starving if I do that

The hard bit is, that so many people use Facebook these days, it is like a telephone book. You have to be on it for people to find you or contact you. So I now keep my time and effort there to the barest minimum, because otherwise as you said @cryptokeepr, I'm then only wasting time and money.
