In order for a community to be sustainable on a long term and offer true value I believe you need to have 9 key features or factors. I have spent the last 10 years studying so many of these social networks come and go and have not yet seen one have more than 2 or 3.
- You need to have content coming in and going out. You cannot be just one little corner of the internet and hope that people will miraculously find you and return to you. people need to be able to post in to your site and also to see the content of other places in your site. This is why we show your tweets on your Crowdify profile, why we display our Pinterest boards on our home page and why we have Facebook comments. We have Google+ and You Tube posts imbedded in our tools knowledge base pages. We will have Facebook and Twitter widgets in our city pages and encourage imbedding in blog posts. You will see more and more of this inter connectivity on Crowdify. We are an open content network.Twitter shuts down photos from Instagram. Pinterest disables pins from Facebook. Facebook makes it difficult to display content from almost everywhere. I could go on. We are just a useful app in the mainstream of social media and because of that will be able to continue to swim in that stream.
- The content must be of very high quality. People are becoming increasingly tired of having to wade through a sea of mediocrity to find a pearl. They want all pearls! We have blogs, art and also photography spaces now as well the biggest knowledge base of internet tools in the world. Soon we will add Wikipedia pages millions of them, which you will be able to interact with and get paid when you share them. We want to have quality music, video, gaming and more as well. Content is still king.
3.You have to constantly innovate and develop unique tools and user experiences with apps. You cannot stand still. You have to be a disruptive force and be challenging the present way of doing things. The real estate, crowdfunding and recruitment industries for example are wide open to disruption right now. - You have to create an economy around your own currency. Advertising revenue only will never be a sustainable income stream any more. People simply do not look at or click on ads. We have been doing extensive heat spot testing to see where people click. We are not even going to bother trying to have ads. Our revenue will come from many streams. Money is energy. It has to flow around your community freely and it may as well be printed by you so that you have an extra income stream for yourself and for your members who mine it..
- You have to be an MLM. This is the only fair way to distribute the wealth and to encourage people to become teachers and leaders in your community. It is not just about encouraging and incentivising people to log in and make an account although this is good. These will just however become vanity numbers. You have to genuinely build a sustainable model whereby everybody has a chance to make money. You have to build an army of people who will teach people how to make a business from the tools and the economy in your community. These teachers deserve to be paid and an MLM system will facilitate this.
- You have to promote and support your biggest supporters and promoters. Barely anybody gets this. Once your official social networks become influential why not use them to support your biggest supporters and promoters rather than just your own corporate messages.
- You have to offer a lot of things to avoid being copied. In addition there is power in a crowd. You cannot be too big there are a lot of people out there.
- You have to pay people and make sure that they see and feel you paying them. People love having their content or their efforts in sharing or even commenting recognized and being rewarded for them. Before the advent of crypto currencies such as Superior coin this was difficult to facilitate but now it is easy and is a must in my eyes.
