I hope I'm not crashing your Steemit party or anything by asking this, but what the FUCK is this???

Why do some people have (+106 STEEM) in their Steem Power balance?!

Example image below:

What's the time limit? When does it disappear? What HAPPENS when it disappears? Can the person vote with his Steem Power PLUS the additional 106 trapped inside some form of parenthesis shit?

Tanks!

It is Steem Power being delegated to the account, likely by @steemit. The account doesn't own the Steem Power, but they get to vote with it and earn curation rewards with it.

Looks like we answered that one at almost exactly the same time, lol

I came across that, too... and i am just as puzzled!

We're puzzled!!! Please come in here and explain it to us, experts of STEEEEEEM!

Its delegated steem power for new users, you will notice the value is not reflected in the total value of the account. That amount will eventually go away

Yes, I love that idea, it encourages newer users to stay onboard and curate if not posting, or as well as posting.

That 106 is Steem power delegated to your account by Steemit to help you get started with your voting, so that your voting power is not too low.

Is it eternal?

No, only until they think you have gotten enough Steem of your own, or until they decide to give it to newer users.

Is it eternal glory?
