I actually discovered that this applies for 3-4 other people from my country that used to follow me around even if they didn't like what I was writing.

It's because negative emotions causes strong neural response. People are junkies)))

I guess that makes sense

Not directly correlated but quite an interesting article:

I know that when i lack new interesting emotions i tend to recall the strongest feelings and emotions in the past. Doesn't matter positive or negative they were. It might be interesting to dig an information on "emotional attachment".

Yeap. Read it before. I think I also referenced something similar in a past article about why I choose to be confrontational.

When you piss someone the argument stays with them. it forms a small kind of trauma (in a way). Same applies why we tend to remember things that makes us happy. Emotional impact is positively correlated with memory retention.

Negative emotions also recursive. We tend to comeback to them recursively over and over if we are really pissed thus making it only stronger with every new iteration. The same way obsession works.

It makes sense from a neurobiological point of view as well. Addiction works much the same way. It is not really about the substance but about the emotional attachment to a situation. The substance is just the enabler.
