Hey James, it'd be great if you would consider my own social network called ureka.org (Earth Heart Community) - which focuses on healing, balancing and evolving. I haven't been able to build it as much as intended in the last year+ because I have been helping build Steemit/Steem - but it is likely I will soon be integrating a Steem based Smart Media Token so that posts can receive payout on Ureka too.. Plus other fun features will be added too.
Ureka is intended to combine social features with a functional learning platform and information repository. Any feedback is welcome. <3

Greetings! The learning platform is not specifically limited in any way - you can use if for whatever (lawful) purpose you want that is within the terms & conditions.. However, the intention of the site is to facilitate healing, balancing and evolving - yes.
The essential aim for the platform is available in the 'about' section on the site, however, I am planning to extend it to include a post reward system, probably an SMT - plus other great features too. The system will be a hybrid so that post can either generate rewards and be publicly distributed on the Steem blockchain or can only be stored in the Ureka database and so will not receive payouts, but can be published with privacy restrictions applied (which is not possible when publishing to Steem).

The censorship has gotten out of control!
I am in the process of quitting facebook and youtube because of censorship and the mindless advertising push by said companies .. it will be great to get some other options and i totally agree with what your saying there.. look forward to your findings :)
Finding a social media icon for Steemit is a real challenge. Best I could find was this logo , which will then need to be massaged in an image editor to match your existing social media icons. Would be great if it was easier.

Also, I noticed you feature minds.com quite prominently on your own website with your postings... I am really curious what you'll have to say about that one. I've looked into it briefly and really didn't see the merits (what i saw: it's just a user-monetizable-medium.com with an ERC20 token on top?!)
I'm here on Steemit because of your great content and inspirational videos James @corbettreport, so I'm looking forward to learning about other alternatives that I may not know about. I couldn't stand twitter from the start, but I loved using instagram (until now, there are just too many ads flooding the feed). Any suggestions for an instagram alternative?

Good idea to educate the youtubers and get them away from that platform as well. There are so many outlets to use, it is confusing which are worth our time. Steemit seems to be more interactive and productive, although I am new here still. Thanks for introducing me to it as I have been coming over here to read your editorials.
What I'd like to see is these platforms working in cooperation instead of competition. You load your post on whatever platform suits you. And all of them are linked so that, I can see you, and all my faves on whichever platform I like to use: )

James, I think you're on the right track. By censoring and controlling our communication, GFT (Google, Facebook, Twitter) are essentially preventing us from advancing the benefits of social and global communication.
From my viewpoint in Canada, I'm seeing a much higher level of intellect and decorum on Steemit and Dtube with a greater diversity of input from around the world, including Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Would be ironic justice if many of us abandon GFT and leave them to try to police the remaining haters, flamers and fighters! LOL

Your warnings on YouTube got me looking into alternate platforms. I have gone to all the ones you mentioned in other videos. I'm now on BitChute, Minds, Viuly, Vimeo and here on DTube. I would never have done it if I hadn't heard about them from you. When youtube shut down my main channel for posting about David Hogg that was it. Thanks for all you do!

I never liked Twitter anyway
I got blocked for getting into a fight with a troll , and I could get it back if I verified using my phone number . Full of fucking trolls anyways and just what can you say of any substance under 140 characters ⁉️But I felt I had given them enough , and haven’t returned and don’t plan on it . Happy without it , and looking forward to new alternatives . By the way Dtube doesn’t work . Thanks .
