I believe your rep goes down if someone downvotes your content, also I believe the impact is larger when that person has more rep than you. But don't sweat it, just hang out here and contribute with nice content and your rep will go up for sure :)

Haha, poor @wang, I just checked he is at an -8 which is the lowest I've seen so far.
