How Steemit helps me and my parents out of a financial hole

So I'll be honest and say that Steemit mostly attracted me because of the ability to get paid for the content you share. The longer I stay here, the more I realize that I'm getting addicted not to the financial capabilities, but to Steemit and the community itself. I started seeing the bigger view and I'm really hoping Steemit goes a long way.

But today I'll share a story about my situation and how Steemit helps me help my family financially.

So there has been some tension in my family lately, which is caused by a pretty hard financial situation and some other minor details as well. My mother is a dentist but she gets really shit pay compared to what a dentist should really get and I won't really go into detail why she isn't capable of getting a decent pay. My father is a business man so to say, which means he does not have a stable job and when things aren't going well with his business ventures - that means there are hard times in the family financially. I can't say we are in a really really bad situation, but there have been times when there's hardly any food to eat.

So I'm a young guy with a passion towards business just like my father. I've been doing some things here and there and have been trying to support my family as much as I can. After stumbling on to Steemit, I decided to give it a shot and write posts about the thing I know and spend most of my time on, which is gaming. I did not really expect my posts to be seen by the public eye, but after spending a couple of weeks talking about one of my hobbies and getting some rewards gave me the opportunity to help my family out.

Most of what I earn here on Steemit I give to my family. I have a younger brother who does sports and needs to go on a summer camp together with all his teammates and I can happily say I made it happen.

This is in no way a cry for help or anything of the sort - I just wanted to share some things about my situation and how Steemit actually gives me the ability to do some very great things and help those closest to me. And I thank Steemit and all of the community here for that.

Thanks for reading!
