Well everyone seems to be doing it these days so I want to explain how my Upvote and Resteem Service works. All you have to do to qualify is post awesome original content. If I like it I will upvote it! If I really like it and want to make sure more people see it, I will resteem it! See below for FAQ related to my Upvote and Resteem Services.
But Gnashster, how will you see my post in the first place?
It is true that I cannot possibly follow everyone on Steemit, nor could I keep up with my feed if I attempted to do so. There is a very good chance that if you post awesome original content, I will not ever see it in the first place! To rectify this, simply leave a comment here with a link to your post containing awesome original content. I promise I will read each and every post linked here - and if I like it I will upvote it and if I really like it I will resteem it!
EDIT Going forward I am going to ask that folks leave me one link at a time in the comments. I am not saying one link for eternity - if you make another awesome original post at a later date, feel free to come back by and drop it off in the comments. However if you leave me links to multiple posts in a single comment, I will not check them all out nor will I upvote your comment nor posts. Likewise don't submit a horde of single submissions in one day all pointing to different posts.
tl;dr
Don't spam my service.
How much does your Upvote and Resteem service cost?
It is free! No charge! I know this is a strange concept, but I believe in the Steemit Gift Economy. Pay it forward!
But do I have to upvote and resteem your post to qualify for your service?
Nope. You do not have to upvote nor resteem any of my posts. Just drop me a link to your original awesome content in the comments below - that is it. If you want to upvote and/or resteem this post, or any of my other posts, do it because you want to. Do it because you think it is original awesome content. Don't do it because you feel obliged to.
Can I help curate the comments here?
Yes you can, thanks for asking! It would be absolutely wonderful, but absolutely not required, if you spent a little time looking through some of the other comments with submissions for my upvote / resteem service. If you like a post that has been dropped off here, remember that it was likely submitted by a fellow human being not unlike yourself.
Consider a double upvote policy; upvote the comment here to move it up what is rapidly becoming a very long comment thread; and upvote the post itself. Again this is absolutely not a prerequisite for using my service, but it will help to make the comments here a useful place to look for awesome original content as upvoted by awesome original content creators.
But Mr. Gnash, you are a minnow! What am I really getting out of this?
In all fair disclosure, I am indeed a minnow.
Current Steem Power = 181
My current Steem power is only 181, yielding an upvote of $.01 to $.03 depending on my current voting power.
Current Followers = 486
I only have 486 followers at the time of this writing.
I will say that I am on an upward trajectory, with pending post payouts that will almost double my Steem power. I have no intention of slowing down, so stick with me my friends - and I will stick with you :)
I submitted a post and you haven't upvoted or commented!
If you submit original content and I have not upvoted or replied, it means I have not seen your comment yet. Give me some time. The bot-free nature of this service means it will not be instantaneous. I may miss your submission the day it comes in. I do promise to check the comments of this post regularly and will reply to and upvote all awesome original content (as defined by me very loosely and inclusively).
But you didn't resteem my post! Do you hate me?
No I don't hate you. To tell the truth I have a lot of love to give - I love you. I also love all the positive interactions that this post has already generated and I certainly want that to continue. On the other hand, I don't want my blog to become an uninterrupted stream of resteems. Going forward I am going to have a pretty high bar for content that I resteem. Don't take it personally if I don't resteem your post. I am setting a hard limit of three resteems a day for myself, and NO resteems on a day if I am not planning to post any original content myself that day.
Bonus Reward
In addition to my meager upvote and potential resteem, I will leave you an honest comment with my reaction to your post. This may actually be the most valuable part of my offer, as honest comments seem to be relatively hard to come by here. I can't promise it will be a positive comment, particularly if you fail to note the "original content" part of my offer. What I am offering here is a genuine human interaction with no bots attached (sorry bots, nothing against you in general but I do like my human interactions).
Double Bonus Reward
You will actually get two upvotes from me. I will upvote your reply here as well as the post you link to.
Double Top Secret Bonus
I will follow you if I like your original awesome content.
How did you make the cover image for this post?
I used the Deep Dream Generator. Check out my very in-depth guide to using the Deep Dream Generator here . For this piece, I trained the neural network in the style of this original drawing:
Wirebot - Carl Nash
I then generated two new images in the style of Wirebot from a picture of my face and the text "UPVOTE RESTEEM":
Old picture of Carl, I am pleased to note that my upvote/resteem service now comes with 500% more beard!
UPVOTE RESTEEM text - Rosewood Std font
I then combined the resulting images to form a composite image in Photoshop:
Voila
Much Love!
Cheers - Carl

What a great concept. It would be cool if more people could/would do this. I like the concept and as a minnow as well I would like to see more art (more visual exposure to cool steemian artists) and to expand my own practices (maybe find something cool). Can I ask how you got the generated popularity or did you just begin with leaving people comments and offering the service? I see you haven't been doing this long but it gives me an idea to do the same for character creations for table top gaming or something of the sort? Hmmm... Thank you indeed for the inspiration. Really cool, man! Reseteemed and followed :)
Hey cool, @thing-2 liked your comment! If you haven't run into @thing-2 or his brother @gentlebot, they go around upvoting nice thoughtful comments. They are awesome bots!
I am glad you like what I am doing here - and let me add that I am pretty much your target audience with a steemit handle like @art.gaming.magic!
I am not 100% sure I am following your question. If you mean how did I get to my current number of followers I post a lot of interesting original content and interact with folks that I run into on here honestly and openly, like a real human being. That goes a long way. If you mean generated popularity on this post in specific I think it was just a good idea that is resonating with people. I didn't do anything special to promote it, definitely didn't go around leaving comments telling folks about the service or anything.
I am curious what you mean RE character creations for table top gaming - do you mean use the deep dream generator for that? That is a terrific idea!
Very cool. Count me in, here is one I put a lot of effort into, check it out: https://steemit.com/history/@cryptastic/our-world-in-the-7th-century-a-d
I am SO glad you found me! Thanks for dropping this off!
Attention future readers of these comments - check out this AWESOME ORIGINAL CONTENT - a guided tour around Earth as it was in 600-700 AD
Your first paragraph had me laughing out loud and then the rest was just one of the best posts I have read yet on Steemit. It is not easy to crystallize a cloud of information down into a faceted gem, but you have managed to do just that. Upvote, Resteem and Follow well earned. Cheers - Carl
This comment has received a 16.91 % upvote from @nettybot thanks to: @carlgnash.
Send 0.100 SBD to @nettybot with a post link in the memo field to bid on the next vote.
Oh, and be sure to vote for my owner, @netuoso, as Steem Witness
Have a great day!
Clever post and the fact that your service comes with 500% more beard makes it even more hilarious. I just sent my laser guided upvote service your way and it includes extra hot sauce! On a side note that Deep Dream Generator looks pretty epic, I am going to have to check it out more.
Oh hey I love your laser guided upvote service! Terrific idea bundling it with extra hot sauce - if there is one thing that Steemit needs more than more upvote and resteem services, it is definitely more hot sauce! Beard out
So raw and realistic..i appreciate your rugged honesty..im sick of paying for votes..unfortunately i have no content for you to read!
"rugged" hey I like that. I am a lumberjack, and I'm okay. I'm rugged.
Keep my offer in mind the next time you do have awesome original content! Drop me the link in the comments here, my service is very easy to use and there is no expiration date on the offer :) Cheers - Carl
Man, this is my best piece of content so far, I only got 40 followers, so not many chances to be seen: https://steemit.com/meditation/@hz432creations/mist-of-the-highland-hills-430-65-hz-originalsong Cheers!!
Hey I love this! Really atmospheric original composition - check it out everybody!
my man thanks!!<3
This song was great! Thanks for spawning an interactive comment section!
Thanks Julia, spawning things is what I do! Mostly little tiny baby alien things that squiggle out of my tentacles, but I don't really discriminate
Nice idea @carlgnash. Here is mine post.
https://steemit.com/colorchallenge/@danpaulson/color-challenge-thursday-green-redfish-lake-sawtooth-mountains-idaho
Hi @danpaulson, beautiful photo and beautiful neck of the woods! Following you for more awesome original content :)
Fantastic service sir @carlgnash! Revolutionary even ;)
I know right! It was one of those genius ideas where I was thinking, HOW HAS NOBODY THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE!!!
My original content of the day!
Hope you enjoy :D
https://steemit.com/ltdwf/@leminhead/learn-to-draw-with-friends-challenge-star-wars-master-yoda-portrait-drawing
@leminhead I apologize for the delay in my reply here, one drawback with using a bot-free approach is the element of human error of course! I thought I was keeping a careful eye on all the incoming replies to this post but somehow missed your comment when it came through.
I love your drawing and particularly enjoyed getting to see the process from start to finish. Following you and looking forward to more of your original art in my feed! Cheers - Carl
Hello, Would be extremely grateful if you could checkout my blog and my intro below - Noob here trying so every little helps Thank you :)
https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@slothboarder/introduce-myself-to-you-lovely-humans-20171017t154126980z
Hi @slothboarder! I would have followed you just for Lola, she is beautiful and just has "good dog" oozing out of her!
That is a nice introduce yourself post, but I do have a word of advice. In general I would stay away from "follow for follow", you don't want to build up your follower count that way - trust me. There are some exceptions of course but typically the sort of accounts that will follow someone who requests follow for follow in an introduce yourself post are low steem spammy accounts that will just choke your feed with junk and will get you nowhere fast as far as traction on your blog. Much better to follow people organically, when you have a real human interaction with someone, follow them. Lay off the "follow for follow" requests because they will actually turn off the exact kind of higher steem accounts you want to follow you.
My advice for the short term would be to use the @resteembot and @resteem.bot services to get your posts seen by more eyes (cost is negligible, a literal few cents) and to engage in one or more of the off site chat communities to to build relationships. Check out @minnowsupport and the associated PAL (Peace Abundance and Liberty) chat on Discordapp.com.
Okay, phew - sorry to talk your ear off! Of course, take everything I say with a grain of salt appropriately sized for someone with an alt account like @beelzebub ;)
Remember to drop the next post you are proud of here in the comments - if it is an awesome post I can promote it with some bigger Steem guns than myself :)
Cheers - Carl
Please check my post. Thank you) https://steemit.com/sports/@crazy-daisy/to-become-flexible-is-easy-a-few-useful-tips-from-me
Wonderful post @crazy-daisy, I am happy to follow you and looking forward to more great posts in my feed! Stetching really is a key to a happy body
This is true! Thank u!
Well, as promised. Here is my post. It is original and I, at least, think it's awesome. The rest of the world is allowed to form its own opinion on such matters. ;-)
https://steemit.com/fiction/@tinypaleokitchen/somewhere-over-the-rainbow
This was worth the wait! I have to say your title didn't quite prepare me for the ride I was about to go on! Resteemed with pleasure.
Ladies and gentlemen please note that @tinypaleokitchen is donating all SBD income from this post to Tazewell ARC, an amazing rescue shelter. Show her and the dogs and cats some love!
There is another story up that is also pledged to Tazewell ARC. It is all original and, in my modest opinion, not half bad. ;-) Thanks again for supporting my previous post. https://steemit.com/fiction/@tinypaleokitchen/survivor-payout-of-this-post-is-pledged-to-tazewell-arc-let-s-make-happy-endings-for-these-lost-little-souls
Thanks for alerting me! I love these posts - keep them coming :)
Well, I did promise myself my next story was going to be something completely different. With human dialogue and everything. And one that doesn't make me cry. 😀 But there will definitely be more Rainbow stories as well.
Awesome - I certainly didn't mean to only post these :) Give your feels a break
Thanks. I'm currently working on a comedy-ish piece. It's hard to get it right without going over the top, but it's certainly much less exhausting, emotionally. :-)
Well, the comedy piece worked. I'm now working on the next rainbow story but I wanted to thank you again for your support of the first two. ;-)
Thank you so much! I have another "rainbow story" coming that will also have all SBD pledged to the same shelter. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps.
Hey Carl, amazing service!
I don't know if it's still working .. but you made an offer I can't refuse ;)
Check this out and tell me what you think. Hope you like it.
https://steemit.com/drawing/@mr-monk/colorchallenge-wednesdayyellow-experiment-no-7284274-b-b-b-bird-is-the-word-full-process
My service has no expiration date (well, I suppose eventually there will be one - but I hope for my sake my expiration date is a long way away!). I am very glad you found me, that is a really fun drawing and you are totally right - bird IS the word! I really enjoy posts that show the process from sketching through completion of a piece of art, thanks so much for taking the time to document this artistic journey to Sesame Street! You rock!
Hey @carlgnash
I already saw that there is actually a new post and that this is the beta.
But it worked!
Thank you again for your kind words and the great service to the community of minnows that we swim around here. Keep in touch
Will do @mr-monk - my service will always be fully backwards compatible so dropping a link in the comments here will always "work". As you may have noticed I leave two comments as part of the service - I try to leave my first comment in response to the actual post so I am getting across my first reaction, then I compose my thoughts and write something here on the comment thread with an eye toward future readers as well.
Its great what you are doing. Congratulations!
https://steemit.com/contest/@digitalking/soccer-contest-world-cup-qualification-england-vs-slovakia
Thanks @digitalking! I had to think about your submission for a second but I am going with the ruling that I DO find it to be original content - not quite willing to dish out the "awesome" here though for a contest like this which is pretty bare bones in terms of anything else in the post except the bare minimum needed to explain the contest. Ultimately I am upvoting and participating in your contest because I think it is an interesting/innovative structure, very simple and elegant way to build a reward pool and award to winners in an open and public manner.
I am following you, not because of the contests but because of your Vasilikos post :)
Cheers - Carl
I was thinking this way when i had to decide to run these contests but you already gave the answser in your reply for the reasons that made me to finaly do it. Thank you for your support :)
Hi there. Thank you for offering this service - sometimes we all need a helping hand!
Could you please consider my latest post:
https://steemit.com/life/@coffeehub/depression-is-one-of-those-annoying-house-guests-who-don-t-want-to-leave-once-they-come-to-visit
Thanks for dropping off this awesome original content @coffeehub! And yeah it is really hard to kick depression off the couch. Thanks for sharing your own story and sparking the conversation. You rock - Carl
I'm sure your service will pay out for you aswell! what a kind offer :) I'm mostly here for the honest opinion on my post :D I'm new to steemit and it's my first time blogging AND writing in english as I'm from germany and my grades in school sucked haha :D
But I promise I will put a lot of effort in my upcoming posts as I already did in my first two.
So here is my second post: https://steemit.com/art/@jb-design/creating-childhood-memories-part-1
Wish you all the best and a nice day. you got a new follower :)
Dude I am so glad you found my post! Anyone reading these comments should check @jb-design out - really fantastic content especially for a brand new Steemit-ian! I actually have a kind of similar cross-hatch style I use some times. Your art and your childhood experiences are straight after my own heart. Looking forward to seeing this book come to life on here. Much love - Carl
Ok Carl, make magic happen
https://steemit.com/love/@nedspeaks/bittersweet-symphony-of-life
That's what I do, Ned, that's what I do. Actually that is what you do, apparently. I was happy to resteem that post and am very glad I hoodwinked you with my cunning post name into participating in my super duper upvote and resteem service. This is exactly the kind of awesome original content I was hoping to see.
Ladies and gentlemen, @nedspeaks! Give him a listen.
@carlgnash, thanks Carl. I have been here 3 months. Slow learning curve as I can spend only so much time here. Glad people like you are here to write great stuff.
https://steemit.com/blender/@tom-stefan/sheeps-on-a-field-3d-model-in-blender
@tom-stefan my main Serbian man! Glad you navigated out of the darks of PAL chat and successfully found my page LOL I am really excited to be collaborating with you. Thanks for humoring my odball request and I hope we make some magic happen together. I love your sheep. Not in the biblical sense though. ;)
@carlgnash - Carl, this is what happens when you "adopt a newbie." The newbie won't go away and keeps hanging around her mentor trying to figure things out. Right now I'm trying to bring to your attention an important comment from the newbie @zeedout who posted a reply to Titus Frost's Steemit introduction. I happened to find the comment yesterday as I was wandering about. It is obviously original and very important content which received no reply and no votes. So I voted. But when I tried to reply, Steemit shut down (again). This morning, I took advantage of Titus' rant against YouTube censorship to re-post the information from @zeedout. (The best time to get Titus' attention is when he's on a rip.) I'm now doing the same with you. @zeedout is an indigenous member of the Canadian First Nations whose grandparents experienced discrimination and other forms of oppression.
(I think your free human analysis of original content is an excellent and much needed contribution to the Steemit community. I didn't realize that you are also @Beelzebub when I muted him/it/you. I didn't even realize that one person could open more than one account. I won't un-mute @Beelzebub because his name causes a disruptive fluctuation in my reuptake inhibitors, but I do want to encourage your generous spirit and all the good work you're doing here on Steemit!
Here's the link to my comment on Titus' Steemit page, and I will try to paste here the comment from @zeedout :

@zeedout posts reply to the Titus Frost Steemit introduction -
https://steemit.com/introduce-yourself/@titusfrost/titus-frost-youtube-channel-now-on-steemit-introduceyourself
Titus, I been following you on Youtube for a while and promote all the work you've done on Pizzagate. I connected with a indigenous women in Canada in a Pizzagate Exposed group that commented on the topic of naked hunting parties and here is what she said "Iv herd stories about this from my grandfather who was in a residental school as a child was forced into a clergy hockey league(sick pedo's)as a young boy and teen and then sent off to be the perfect little soldier by our American & Canadian Army because he is *first nations and of dual citizenship he was able to enlist in both....these stories made no sence to me and i put them out of my head as Drunk Ramblings...but never will i forget what he has told me. I just was not able to comprehend what he was telling me....sad to say these are true.
I even know where bones are burried i think bc he had a last request after he died to have his ashes put in a certain spot- he only told 2 of us about this tequest i tried getting him to put it in wrighting but he refused.made me promise. He said he was responsible for alot of lost spirits over there and it was his dutie to be there in death to protect them. He said their were women and small children burried there in desecration...i only wish i knee about this stuff early on while he was still alive. He was such a torchered soul. But growing up with that kind of government guidence as an aboriginal person. You either did what they asked like a perfect soldier or die.
He said everything he did was so he can see that his bloodline could survive, live.😞. But that he feared. most was he wouldn't be allowed in heaven for what he did and he figured the next best thing is for his ashes to be were those people were- he called it a mass grave. After he died we tried going to place his ashes in a spot we thought was abandoned only to be met with security looking people all dressed in black. Looked more like a personal military security team. They stopped us and asked us why we were there....i was kinda shocked and asked "can we go in there?" He said nope. It private land...i was always told it was Native Unsurrendered land. I told him i was just wanted to explore and left. I never got to bring his ashes to the spot. My curiosity was spiked by 1000x trigger and i knew, i could feel something bigger was going on here. That land is native land i wS told by everyone but why was i met by military looking people and stopped from going in. Iv no answers and my band might also be covering some brutal stuff up. They delivered our children to these places. Most never came home." "Im just relieved that after all these years i have a place to actually let some of this stuff out. Even my own family turns a blind eye and not ready to admit these things. My grandfather was trying to get it out bf he died. I see that now. People just are not ready to deal with this yet....it was years and tons of research that allowed me to finally start sharing some of his stories...i was one who listened to them all instead of running for cover anytime he talked about the schools or government or how even in the sports world and how they all hurt little children in initiations." Titus I connected with her and she's willing to be interviewed about what she knows and has been told about what happened on that land and where it is. email me at domzeedout@gmail.com
Hi @sarahspeaks and nice to "see" you again :) As usual this is a thought provoking comment and I want to respond to several things here, but first a question for you: I am actually considering doing what I suggested you could do and turning our first comment exchange into a post of its own, or more accurately, incorporating it into a post I have been mulling over for a few days on the topic of a call for more readers/commenters/engagement and less of a focus on content creators(bloggers/bloggin) on Steemit in general. Common courtesy dictates that I ask your permission first... can I quote you in my post?
Next a bit of housekeeping RE he who shall not be named lest it triggers another disruptive fluctuation in your [serotonin, I presume] reuptake inhibitors. From a very young age I have been fascinated with devils, demons, the occult and magic and that fascination has stayed with me as I grew older and realized that the demons and devils in Christian mythology were syncretic elements from older religions that had been "demonized" (I may never use this word in a more relevant context LOL) as they were appropriated. I mention this because it strikes me that demonizing the other and appropriating it is actually at the heart of @zeedout's comments that you have linked here. I do want to note that he who shall not be named is a very friendly and gracious devil, an account that I mainly use to resteem content that I want to promote but which does not meet my very high bar for personal resteems. There are resteem services out there which charge a negligible fee but require that you follow them before using their service - I use he who shall not be named to follow these resteem services so i can use them to resteem content to a wider audience without having to choke my own feed with all the resteemed content from the resteem services. For instance, I resteemed the Titus Frost post you linked to the comments above through two such resteem services using this account.
One final housekeeping note RE votes - you mentioned upvoting @zeedout's comment as it had not attracted any attention, and obviously you have brought it here for my attention as well. I want to point out that there is only a 7 day payout window for posts and comments - once they have passed that time they are paid out and any subsequent upvotes do not actually result in earnings for the author. You also can no longer edit a post or comment after the 7 day window, nor resteem it. This is a function of the immutable and uncensorable nature of the blockchain - once the 7 day payout window is passed, the post or comment is basically finalized and immortalized in the blockchain and no power can remove/censor/edit it. I mention this here though because spending an upvote on a post or comment that is passed the payout window is, in a very real sense, a waste of your Steem power. I would recommend to just leave a comment if you like an older post/comment and save your Steem power in the form of upvotes for posts/comments that are still in the 7 day window. You have only a limited amount of Steem power, which does refresh slowly as you use it, and I personally want to spend my limited Steem power where it will actually do something. My upvote only means a few cents, but I would rather hand those few cents to someone else than throw them down the Steemit drain by spending them on a post older than the payout window.
Moving on to the meat of your comment - I believe you have misread @zeedout, who does not claim to himself be an indigenous member of the Canadian First Nations, but rather that he "connected with a[n] indigenous women in Canada" and then goes on to relate what she said - you will note that @zeedout says, "here is what she said '...", enclosing the rest of the comment in quotes because he is relaying what his anonymous contact said - concluding with the note that this woman is willing to be interviewed RE this topic. This doesn't necessarily change anything about the content of the comment itself, but I wanted to point it out you.
I am honestly not sure what to do with @zeedout's comment so I did not reply to it elsewhere - this kind of falls into the "I know a person who knew a person who..." category, which is a pretty fuzzy and gray category indeed. @zeedout met this person on an online forum - it is one thing to relate a story from your own experience, but quite another to pass on a story from someone you do not even know personally and only met in a forum. The person @zeedout quotes may or may not have been a woman, may or may not have been First Nations and may or may not have heard this story (note that the woman quoted is relating a story from still a 3rd person). I am not saying I disbelieve it - but I am saying that a story related by a person met in an online forum, about a story heard from still a 3rd person, is a pretty tenuous chain to follow.
@carlgnash - Thank God you found me! Luddites should not be allowed to wander around loose in cyberspace. Yes, you're absolutely right about . . . almost everything. I did not read @zeedout carefully before I linked the post to you and to Titus. In fact, I was nearly dozing off after several hours of Steemit reading and several hours of trying to absorb the "do's and don't's" of the culture. Much later I realized that @zeedout was, in fact, speaking of someone else. And I think I may have rushed through the post so hastily because my brain was click- click-clicking its way back to several corroborating YouTube documentary videos about the Catholic missionary schools that were established for the children of indigenous tribes and were later investigated for discrimination and child abuse. In other words, I read the comment and immediately went into brain-skip. I focused on the possibility of a first-person Skype interview with a subject whom I assumed would be @zeedout 's grandmother. But without reading carefully, I left it to Titus to make the connection himself. (I did e-mail @zeedout using the e-mail account linked in the comment but there has been no response.) So, my bad.
HOWEVER, here's where we disagree. I don't at all view this topic as demonizing "the other" although that certainly is the sin that shreds our social fabric. I still think that an interview would be appropriate with a credible subject. The fact that neither Titus nor @zeedout ever responded leaves the whole project in a coma (but not altogether dead).
Carl, your idea of creating content from a series of comment exchanges makes perfect sense because of the presumed interactive and networking purposes of Steemit. People write comments because the thoughts and ideas of others stimulate related thoughts and ideas. Thus, chat rooms. So why not post interesting "chat room" exchanges and invite further responses? I've always said you're brilliant, and I've only known you for a very brief minute.
Freely use whatever you find interesting in my comment links because I've been blessed to meet some of the brightest Steemians in the minnow pond. In fact, and I say this with conscious bias, I am quickly convinced that the intellectual output on the Steem platform far exceeds other social media forums. It's a learning atmosphere. And the only change that I might make would be to ask Steemians to identify their primary motive for participation as either information exchange or earning power. Why does that matter? Because those who really need to earn money might enjoy doing so in a suburb of the community that relishes vote for vote and follow for follow, resteeming and unbridled bot activity unrelated to content. Others who prefer content curation might enjoy a different suburb in which interesting debates are continually generated. (I'm still gathering my thoughts on "social equilibrium.") I've never walked through Reddit, but isn't Reddit content curated by subject-moderators?
OK, this is much too long. Have I covered everything? Let me know. Much love.
No you mistook what I was saying. I was drawing a parallel between Christian appropriation of older gods while literally demonizing them; and the appropriation of native culture and symbolism by a colonial government that systemically oppressed and demonized first nations. I was talking about the root causes of the issues discussed in the post/comment, not the actual content of the post/comment itself.
I have summoned quite a few older gods into existence on Steemit - gods that Christian mythology has appropriated and categorized as "demons" or "devils". I won't list them here but felt I should mention this to you in the spirit of openness given your reaction to my friendliest and most public devil account.
@carlgnash - Well, of course you were. Now why didn't I get that? Could it be because of the exponential Pi to the 7th power factor that is always embedded in the abstract thinking of the members of your tribe? Albert Einstein, Elon Musk, and Steve Jobs. "The Christian appropriation of older gods?" Fascinating. I'll get back to you on that. In the meantime, here is the perfect illustration of every Luddite's cyberphobia. You'll like this.
https://blog.mozilla.org/internetcitizen/2017/07/31/lovestreams-a-story-of-net-crossd-lovers-and-more/?sample_rate=0.01&snippet_name=7044#utm_source=desktop-snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=mic&utm_term=7044&utm_content=rel
I am going to have to check with my copy editing desk to see how that slipped through the QC process. Rereading that entire paragraph culminating in the bit that had you confused I see the whole thing is dense enough that it could be unpacked into its own blog post. I don't usually talk religion here but I do consider myself to be a student of religion and history, and we are touching on some fascinating history here. I think it is relatively safe to point you to the Wikipedia page of the same name as the account of mine that you muted. Many gods of the other (from the Christian perspective), e.g. gods worshiped by anyone not of the Abrahamic lineage, became syncretized elements within the Abrahamic religions but were literally demonized - recast as devils and demons. This is no surprise of course as one of the primary tenants of the Abrahamic religions is that there is only one true God.
The interesting part to me is the lengths to which later Christian theologians during the middle ages and Renaissance elaborated an intricate mythology of hell, with a hierarchy of devil/demon princes serving under Satan all having particular fields of specialty. Most of the names of these devils and demons, of which my alternate account name is one, were originally derived from gods outside of the Abrahamic tradition. Some of this Christian mythology of devils and demons is passed on today in popular culture and even in some vestigial elements of the Roman Catholic Church. Hope none of this crosses a line, I find it terribly fascinating but without knowing exactly what triggered your reaction to my other account's name I may be treading on thin ground here.
Also a reaction to the link you shared - pretty interesting interview with the director, although I think he has a somewhat closed mind to the true possibilities of the internet in general and social media networks in particular. The closing section brought up by the interviewer resonated with me and is an interesting bit of synchronicity as well.
The final message in Lovestreams is, “You are not alone.”
A few weeks back I posted a Steemit Open Mic Entry of the same name - "You Are Not Alone" (video below but the post is worth reading)
@carlgnash - I am so happy that your sister is safe and that you're able to treasure and deepen your relationship with her even more intensely and more sensitively. God is truly merciful. Your original song, "You Are Not Alone," is haunting, and if you can send the written lyrics I would really appreciate that. But you have more on your plate than ten people, so if typing up the words will be yet another item on your "to do" list, don't worry about it. I'll type the words myself. My favorite part of the song is the chorus provided by your little one. (Girl or boy?) That reminds me of the two little empaths in the link below. They are so beautiful!
I won't even begin to answer your thoughts on Christianity right now. I'll be offline for a day or so and that theological conversation needs time and space. We'll be exploring that universe for a few hundred eternities. What I find particularly joyous in your sharing the song with me is the intimacy of your home atmosphere. It is a warm and peaceful and loving space that nurtures creativity and all good things. No wonder your little one is so happy there!
Here's the link to the two little empaths (Michelle adds their appearances at the end of her video), and I'll be back in a few days. God bless you, dear Carl.
It's been three days since this was posted. Will my service come with 511% more beard?
I love the post and I love the pic. I may actually try doing something similar as a footer :)
I'd also love if you checked out the first chapter of my work in progress: One in the Oven, One in the Chamber - The noir/humor story of a pregnant assassin and her pursuit of maternity leave in an Independent Contractor position.
Hope you enjoy it!
The total amount of beard is pretty large at this point, so 3 days doesn't really move the needle much.
The noir/humor story of a pregnant assassin and her pursuit of maternity leave in an Independent Contractor position.
Well damn you already have me at your elevator pitch. Sold. Will read this after dinner!
Lol! Awesome. I'll take 500.0001%.
I left you a glowing comment on your post but I wanted to reply back here for anyone reading this comment thead:
This gal is a gott damn twisted genius
Do yourself a favor and read her writing!
You're a treasure! If you keep it up I'll have to butter my ears to get my head through the door lol! I'm a gal, though, 😉
Working on Chapter 2 this weekend. If you ever get over to MSP Waves Radio, our Fiction Workshop will be critiquing it before it posts. The Fictioneers airs Tuesdays at 6pm Eastern Standard (New York) time and if you tune in this week you can catch that sneak preview before it's polished 💃
Well there you go, that is what I get for assuming... although in this case I only made an ass out of me. Edited. I have met quite a few JR's in my life before and they were all of the male persuasion - thanks for shaking things up for me!
Lol! You didn't make and ass of yourself at all. Most people assume the jr is for junior lol. But since we're friends I can tell you it's for Jessica Rose 😊
What an original and innovative concept! I'll have to try this!
Yeah spread the word!
My awesome original content for today: https://steemit.com/politics/@chieppa1/the-founders-foreign-policy-an-introduction
Ladies and gentlemen, this IS AWESOME ORIGINAL CONTENT! I highly encourage anyone reading the comments on this post to read @chieppa1's post and follow the man!
Nice! Good to see you doing something with all that Beard Carl! Doesn't happen to be Playoff Beard does it?
I'm happy to take you up on your service, and humbly request that you take a look at my post from last night that has garnered quite a bit of quality minnow conversation.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@mikepm74/what-do-you-do-first-on-steem-it-s-important
Your reading and joining the discussion is welcome. Your resteem to your followers, 2.5x more followers than my own current list, would be a great and welcome gift if you are so inclined.
Thanks! Have a great evening!!
Hi @mikepm74 thanks for stopping by - that is a great post and definitely valuable reading for Steemit newbs and a valuable reminder for Steemit vets. Resteemed and followed. And no, not a playoff beard - the current incarnation of Beard Chez Carl is 13 months old already, so we are already beyond the ebbs and flows of a single sport season :) Cheers and looking forward to more of your posts in my feed!
You just won a free upvote from my new upvote service which is based your model! I love all your deep dream stuff I wish I knew how to train the neural network like that you should do a tutorial!
Thanks @juliakponsford! That is a good idea, I will do a post. It is really easy but I have definitely picked up a few tips and tricks that help make the final product turn out better. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what kind of images worked well as starting images and what kind of images worked well as "style" images. Check out my latest post for some more Deep Dream Madness! Stay tuned for a tutorial post...
Yeah I'd love to train it using some of my slartwork and see what happens but I wouldn't even know where to begin. I would love to see a tutorial.
Wow, you are doing a great kindness! Thank You!
So this I believe this is my best content. It took me a few hours to gather the data but received no luck in getting it out there once posted. I just would've appreciated someone taking a look. I know statistics might not be fascinating but I really enjoy it :) Have a good one!
https://steemit.com/blog/@mela913/descriptive-statistics-review-for-beginners-pt-1
It is kind of funny that you say this is a great kindness, when actually this is the way Steemit is intended to work, right?!? I mean my post was mostly a joke, but I am definitely enjoying the chance to see some original posts that I probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Like yours! Believe it or not I actually find statistics really fascinating. Of course I am an alien with eyeballs on tentacles, so that might explain it :)
Upvoted, followed and resteemed :) Cheers - Carl
You are totally right! It is how it should work 😊
Glad you took the incentive to post this though and go through those that slip the cracks. Thanks for checking it out. Much appreciated!
full support and 100% upvote, hats off. :)
Thanks @eyegasm! Really like your stuff, following you now and looking forward to more awesomeness from you in my feed!
Thanks I ll try to honor the request :)
I really like this. I've been extremely soured on people offering resteems and upvotes for cash (admittedly, I've used their services more than once), but offering it for free and using it to drive engagement with users is fantastic. You've really got a great idea on your hands, my friend. I'll see you around on Discord!
Thanks @anarcho-andrei! This has been a fun experiment so far, pretty stoked with the quality of content people are serving me up and it has been one of my more interactive days on Steemit responding to the comments and posts here. I think you may have already connected the dots but I am @gnashster on Discord / PAL - see you around!
EDIT - and thanks for the resteem! I see you operate a similar service! LOL
Awesome service in the exchange of your precious time. Below is my post about some weird asian culture.
https://steemit.com/cn/@fr3eze/be-a-free-old-man-should-you
Hope you wont be overwhelmed by the amount of articles you are going to read!
Thanks @fr3eze - that was an interesting post and I definitely appreciate you sharing your perspective here! I might have a little bit dimmer outlook on the western way here, I think the dissolution of the extended nuclear family is a huge problem in our modern society and one that we won't fully understand all the repercussions of for a long time. A huge percentage of our elders are effectively removed from everyday life and awareness for the younger generations, cloistered in facilities. I honestly wish there was more of the cultural safety net intact.
Cheers - Carl
Alright dude! You got me with this one. Following you now and upvoted. Nothing to give you to resteem. Hope you enjoy my posts too.
Under the Double Top Secret Bonus clause of my non-binding upvote and resteem service agreement, I hereby follow you back @nedspeaks. I do like both the content and the voice of your posts - looking forward to seeing you in my feed
Thankyou Carl
Nice work I like your style G (nash)
Ps : my last post https://steemit.com/football/@stickchumpion/analysis-of-the-last-few-weeks-premiership-and-championship-football-soccer-games-how-the-prediction-excel-bot-did
Thanks @stickchumpion - very interested in using Excel for formulaic predictions like this, loved reading about your results (even if they weren't what you were hoping for) and I really do hope you end up posting about the process of making your prediction formulas / spreadsheet! See ya around PAL - Computer Age
Thanks! Don't forget to leave me a link here in the comments to your awesome original content! Spread the good word about Gnashster's Upvote and Resteem Service!
It is kind of awkward for me to call my work awesome original content but since it is a pre-condition I guess I must ... thank you for the service heloing minnows out :)
https://steemit.com/art/@kingyus/freedom-my-entry-for-the-dailysketch-desert-window
yeah that is a condition of the service. No self deprecation round these parts!
... and yeah, that IS awesome original content! This is exactly what I want to see from people - something original and interesting and personal. this conveys a lot with a little. Love the line of dunes stretching away, with the shadow of the plane flying away as well - gives it a nice sense of movement away, and the mug / bottle in the foreground gives it even more of a sense of space. I am pleased to report that under the Double Top Secret Bonus clause of my upvote and resteem service I am following you now - looking forward to more of your awesome content in my feed!
Oh thank you so much! I warn you, am a lazy person but when I have an idea I do my best to accomplish it, not always though :) but I try...this comment is far more appreciative than anything else and is what am looking for in the end. So glad you liked it..it is an awesome picture I just personalized it a little bit :))
Great post dude.
Cracked me up and I'll take you up some time 😉
Thanks - yeah there is no statute of limitations on this offer. Think of the comments to this post as a direct feed to my read - would love it if you dropped me some of your work here from time to time. Cheers!
That is really really clever! I want to stick to this "service" for the next year at least then you would have become a really huge whale. I hope there will be advantages to first movers 😉. Awesome angle to build the community. Here's my post:
https://steemit.com/farming/@misterakpan/paid-with-steem-my-plantain-plantation-got-steem-powered-up
That's such a move from what you're used to reading from me. I hope you find it worthwhile too.
yes, definitely a change of pace from you but still a terrific post! Somehow the dollar signs attached to posts on here just don't seem very real, seeing that translate into something as tangible as weeding on a farm is very inspirational! And great photos as well. Thanks for using my super duper upvote and resteem service! Resteemed my brother :)
Yes! I got maximum offering from my bid. What more could I have asked for? 😉
Yeah, that was really uplifting for me and I thought it'll be to the community. Someone may need to share the story to someone who is still skeptical they will get tangible reward for their effort. You know not everyone was cut to believe in the things that be not as though they were 😀. Yeah, thanks for the compliments on the photos. A passion I had to temporarily drop and I'll love to return to once I can.
Please allow me to submit my latest post as an upvote and resteem candidate ;)

Resteemed and 100% upvoted. Thank you for using my service!

I just joined steemit and here's my first post, hope you enjoy it: https://steemit.com/travel/@jun2jun/trip-of-a-life-yellowstone-national-park
Hi @jun2jun - I am looking for original content. I may be mistaken but it looks like you just collected some pictures of Yellowstone from the internet and didn't really add much interesting info. If you write a post with some original content feel free to drop it by here and I will check it out. Cheers - Carl
Nice
Hats off to you @carlgnash :) Great initiative! Here are a couple of my "all original" posts that I would love shared if you consider them worthy :)

Thanks for the opportunity :)
Hi @jaynie, your comment has led me to institute a small change in my upvote / resteem service terms of use. Going forward I am going to ask that folks leave me one link at a time in the comments - please don't spam my service. I am editing the main post to this effect.
I will be happy to read a post - please select what you consider your best active work to be and reply to this comment with it. Absolutely no hard feelings and I hope you can understand why I don't want to sift through multiple submissions in a single comment, given the comment volume that my service is already attracting.
Cheers - Carl
No worries Carl. No hard feelings at ALL! You know where to find my feed. ;) which... for the record... consists of absolutely NO spam :) I think what you are doing is GREAT. Keep it up and all the best to you :)
Just to be clear I wasn't implying the content of your posts were spam - just that dropping off four links in one comment was spamming my service.
I just read your latest post "We all have our moments" and thoroughly enjoyed it. No spam there. I have never actually had spam though. In terms of the meatproduct in a can that is.
Thanks for taking my comment in stride and I welcome you to drop me a link here anytime you are particularly proud of a post in the future. Cheers - Carl
No worries Carl ;) Always in good spirits... unless I am "having a moment" hahahaha!!! - appreciate the positive feedback :)
This is an amazing initiative for those of us who are still trying to find our way here. I will definitely post you a link to my next story when I'm ready to put it out there.
Thanks! Looking forward to it

I hope this post is useful for many of your followers :)
And starting to follow you :)
Cool I have been thinking about getting a hardware wallet for a while, looks like now might be the time. I need to read the article you linked first. Quick question - was this post (my post, the one you commented here on) something you had bookmarked previously, or how did you find this? Just curious. I gave you some upvotes from a few of my accounts :)

Here is my post on what I see as the dangers of paid upvotes and it's effect on the Steemit community. It also has an idea that could allow people like me who would rather not buy upvotes a possibility to earn them based on quality.
Hello Carl, I have another post I think that you will enjoy.
https://steemit.com/life/@imjustsaying/my-first-time-a-true-story
If you feel that it is rubbish and I'm wasting your time, by all means let me know, you can even flag it. Please just read it till the end prior to making your decision. Also If I'm posting here to often please just let me know and I will stop. I just really think that you will like it. Thanks again for the read. Have a lovely day.
nah dude that is a great post
Hey Carl, first off—thank you so much for putting so much effort into this. I'm a new author and am new to STEEM, I'm working on a number of pieces right now and just recently published this work of short fiction that I'd be so grateful to have your eyes on: https://steemit.com/fiction/@douglasbalmain/the-blood-was-sticky-in-her-hands-as-she-gripped-the-axe ...I'm also in the process of teaching myself how to draw/sketch, so I sketched the image in that post. I hope to be reading your comment/reaction to my material sometime soon. Thanks again.
I enjoyed that, thanks for sharing Douglas. I upvoted through my @r-bot curation account. Cheers
Thanks again—I really appreciate the support.
