Steemit through the Web

in #steemit8 years ago

Ok I was just thinking today what if we could more effectively spread the Steemit word through the Web.

At the moment I think we have to post solely on Steemit , ChainBB and maybe esteem.

Now some people may prefer their blog to be primarily up on their website, in their design.

It would be nice to have a feature so you could post a blog on your own personal website, but have a Steemit add-on, plugin or something similar that would automatically allow people to upvote their post and give them money there.

Ofcourse you would need to have a Steemit account and if you didn’t then this would be an opportunity to inform the reader that they could help support the author by creating their own Steemit account.

Because the blog will be on the blockchain then it will automatically appear on Steemit as well, so you wouldn’t always have to directly go to one place to vote and comment on people’s posts.

So say for example I make a blog about tennis on my own website, that blog will also appear on Steemit at the same time when I click post. So if someone comes along to my website through a Google search or whatever means they will then still be introduced to Steemit. If they are already a Steemit member then as long as they are signed in they could comment and upvote on my blog on my website.

I know we want to get people to come to Steemit all the time and post but if we can spread the message through blogs on other websites then we will be bringing many more people into this space.

I think Facebook do something similar with allowing people to sign in with their Facebook account and leave a comment.

Anyway just an idea, and if it already exists then please let me know.

Thanks for reading!

Yes, facebook done that long agoo. But, then they already had millions of users. For that I think steemit needs to have moooore users. 200 thousands or 300 is small number.
I have some plans or projects for promoting steemit in Serbia this summer. If it all goes well, that will be my little part or gift to steemit. :)

Yeh I'm beginning to see that now. Looking forward to your future developments we need people like you to help the whole community!

Thanks :)

Well that's not a bad idea, but from my point of view the first thing what I would do with steemit is to upgrade whole user interface not only in a desktop version but in mobile version and apps, to make it more intuitive, for example enlarging main buttons with a more telling graphic icons and labels, main story flow with a better navigation, search with autocomplete and other stuff witch users are already using in other platforms like FB, surrounding that with may explanations about steemit currency and its purpose, to be this platform more understandable especially for newbies, don't you think?

100% agree! I really wish this would happen faster, this is 2017 and this site desperatly needs to convey this in their UI. It's still too complicated for many people and just hope they will make a big effort to address this before a competitor does.

It's a good idea but I think passwords can be compromised easier that way but I'm not sure.

Yeh seeing how precious passwords are on Steemit it would definitely be a worry! And personally I think they need to make the whole password thing far simpler, it's just too complicated and scary for many newbies!

Totally agree... I think that what EOS is trying to develop for its platform. I still have to do research :)

Yeh I don't really know too much about EOS but heard Steemit has the potential to be implemented on it whatever that will mean ha!

Same here... Ill just wait til they create it and just use it HAHA

Was up @carface delivering that top notch content again.! Thanks for taking time out to share your thoughts. It's always a pleasure to read and learn from good content.

I try to spread the word everyday... Some people doesn't react well to changes

Yeh been there! The site needs to be made more newbie friendly too as it HAS to be as easy as possible to use!

I don't see the merit of this, it has to be another steemit user, right?

What are the odds of another steemit user visiting your blog outside steemit (and before they viewed it here)? At this point, not very high

Well that's the thing. If they come to your blog and they are not a Steemit user, there will be some kind of message stating that if they were to join then they could help reward the author.

Hmm yea, i get that. But you could always share content right from steemit to other places on the internet, Facebook, Twitter, your blog or wherever. There are no restrictions.

I don't understand what you would specifically gain from a steemit plugin/button ?

I mean, i see lots of people sharing their steemit blogs on Twitter and fb. Each click brings new people to the steemit home page which states pretty much what you just said

Yeh I hear what your saying. Probably if Steemit were to get huge then maybe this idea might work better. I guess if that happened it would then be convenient for many sites to allow you to log in with a Steemit account to comment or upvote.

I voted for you. Please also vote for me
