We'll as you might have guessed, a huge amount of the delegations by the largest delegators, goes directly to BIDBOTS.
source
The report below shows the 100 largest delegations (loan of SP) and who is receiving these very large amounts.
- The Delegator is the whale account that is loaning some of their SP to others. If this account is a witness, it is noted.
- The Delegatee is the account that is receiving the loan. If this account is a bidbot or runs a bidbot, then it is noted.
- SP represents the calculated value in Steem Power of the loan which is actually stored using MVest.

As you can see, some of the largest accounts are making delegations that many of us would deem as being very useful causes and certainly could be considered as having a long term beneficial impact on our platform. Others are using their power for more direct remuneration.
You have the power to make a difference by voting for witnesses that share your concepts for a great platform.
Please do a little research and vote!
https://steemit.com/~witnesses
I will be doing another report here shortly showing where the top 50 witnesses are delegating their SP. Stay tuned, and please help support this information stream by upvoting this post if you found it informative.
Blessing!!

Wow, this is amazing. There is so much value in that SteemPower. With all of that voting power out there it would be great to see more of it going to benefit others and help people grow.
It is pretty easy to see what is controlling the platform, isn't it.
As always, thanks for the support.
Yes, how do you compile this information?
Also, clearly we need to find a way to get the support of these heavy hitters.
I use @steemsql - they have a website posted in their banner.
These are really huge delegations and in my opinion these are business oriented aspects and i agree with your words on the Witness System part because they are the backbone of this Platform and i choose very carefully because first of all i see the regularity aspect, means witnesses should be regular on this platform and then their appearance, means how they are engaging people with their post, and we all have 30 slots to choose so in my opinion we have to choose really effective people. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂
That really is a great idea to see how the witnesses are engaging with people, not just how and where they spend the SP.
Be blessed.
Yes. Thank you. 🙂
Waiting for the next post
hey,I upvote you.return me yours.thanks
I just upvoted you, because it´s friday! ;-)
you got a new follower

damn.... and i wish i had been delegated 200SP
Now I know where the most SP goes in terms of delegation. It's really insightful. With so much SP you can help the community a lot, as some whales are doing. Although not all of them are using it to benefit others. But most are. So that's awesome.
Yes, these large players make the the platform what it is. We do have some influence with our voting power, both when voting for witnesses and downvoting and upvoting properly on each post and comment.
Thank you for the effort!
Very interesting and impressive...
upvoted and resteemed
Clarifying the obvious:
@gtg delegates to @gandalf because I like myself the most ;-)
(gtg as in Gandalf the Grey)
Thanks, yes you are the good wizard, I have voted for you as a witness.
I do hope you're taking a look at some of the rewards pool abuses on the platform and open to some constructive changes.
Blessings!
Thank you :-)
Only if I could clone myself...
But yes, I'm aware. I guess first and easiest thing I (and everyone) can do is to put my own rshares in motion. Due to lack of time I do suck at curation.
And here's the catch: you suck at curation? then you realize how bots can easily help you with curation efforts to allocate rewards to high quality, original content creators.
And when you focus to much on easily and earn and rewards instead of curation, efforts and allocate... then we already know the rest of this story...
The proper answer is: bots can assist you to leverage manual curation (
<-
good post by the way) but humans creating and curating original, high quality content are the most important part of this platform.Isn't that the truth, we could all use a few clones, might just be able to get something done each day that stayed done.
You are so right, it takes a lot of time to curate and the more you are invested into the platform, the more important it is, but your investment is likely causing you to have to allocate time elsewhere.
I don't really hate autovoting, but it does cause long term issues in that our friends can get really lazy when they know they will get voted on one way or the other.
Well said!
Quality is the only thing that will keep this platform going in the very long term.
I had a discussion with @lukestokes -- and raised a few suggestions if you are interested.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@bycoleman/re-lukestokes-re-bycoleman-re-lukestokes-re-bycoleman-re-lukestokes-re-bycoleman-steem-price-under-massive-pressure-as-more-whales-power-down-20180405t001821588z
True, that's why it need to be done really carefully and frequently revisited. But autovoting author should be rather some kind of exception for trusted and proved creators (sorry, it's not enough to be just a friend for that).
But that's not an automation that I had in mind.
Per curator automation > per author.
Lets face the truth. People in majority won't write great posts.
Not because they wouldn't want to. They just can't.
(Oh I wish I could be a good writer too, I would self-vote myself 3 times a day! (obviously, if you don't think your own post is worth your own vote you shouldn't post it at all))
But, what most of us can do is to recognize good content from bad content. That's not that easy it might sound but I believe that there are high quality content curators. Using bot to upvote content that they find (as long as you trust their judgement, honesty etc.) might be a good way to go.
Being a good content curator is a hard work but has a great value for the platform.
Yes, this is so very true, but not sure it is not what is very much in place. I do not use any form of autovoting, except to keep @introbot running. I really prefer to curate on my own, but yes, it is very time consuming. But I am guilty of using bots and resteemers.
"Great" is of course pretty subjective. If a post has passion, relates knowledge, inspires, educates or even just allows others to rise to their full potential, then it achieves great purpose, even if the grammar, spelling and diction is truly poor. People will see the quality -- a bot cannot.
As a witness, you have a great deal of knowledge to share and passions for this platform -- my guess is that any article you ever submit will be nothing less than a true asset.
I'm working on a witness report now that will show how active witnesses are and how and where they have been engaging --- no pressure :)
I think you're a good writer. :)
Don't worry, it's OK to be wrong on Steem ;-)
Question, that I'm still trying to find the right answer to:
Since the bots are now being delegated huge amounts of SP, can they alone choose the top witnesses? In the early days, the steemit employees had sufficient power, but most have delegated their SP. Our we now at the mercy of largest delgatees?
@bycoleman I think SP is biggest asset now. Wish I would have 1 million SP :(
I see delegations to Spaminator and Steemcleaners which I think is good but a lot more delegated to bots that corner the Rewards pool. I guess this is the system that we are in now but I have faith with your efforts to make the platform better. They may be as small as mustard seeds but I know they will eventually move this mountain called Steemit to a better place. More power @bycoleman.
FUR'd.
What is Cryptoctopus' witness if any?
Hi, thanks for taking the time to review this report.
cryptoctopus is not the witness, blocktades is, they are the delegatee (they have leased SP from blocktrades) who is a top 20 witness.
One of the most difficult problems for report writers like myself is trying to get all this information in the few columns that the platform allows (due to formatting for small screens) and still make it interesting and understandable. Suggestions are very much welcome!
Thank you!
Thank you. You are one of the witnesses I have voted for based on in no small part, your not directly supporting bidbots. Also love the consistent passion that shows in your posts and work.
Keep looking long term!
Because I saw this I absolutely will probably start as well. So many people using insane amounts of bidbots and asking to be my delegate to vote for witness, I'd rather just do it myself. Glad I saw this in the comments.
This is a fascinating chart! Thanks for compiling it. It's very interesting to me to see the relationships between various accounts. Much appreciated!
