Shortly after joining the Steemit community (and learning more about the Steem blockchain) I realized I was onto something really special here. This is more than just a social platform that rewards users for their content and interaction; the entire network in all of its complexity is incredibly thought out and is prepared for massive growth. Today I'll share with you why I feel Steem is the #1 altcoin and blockchain technology out there. There's a reason why I continue to invest!

steemit is the way forward
The Steem blockchain has been up and running with working products for a couple of years already, but everything's only just begun. As you said, the steem blockchain, at its current usage is far from being 'congested' and still has a long way to go, it seems like it is a solid blockchain technology.
Many other projects, such as Cardano (I have nothing against Cardano by any means) although have a solid idea as well as a talented and motivated team at the end of the day don't have a working project, or prototype to show. It's all based on speculation, and could easily go to zero.
Although steem could also go to zero, nothing's impossible, especially with crypto, with the existing practicality and usability of projects built on top of the steem blockchain, where many of the users aren't even aware they are utilising a blockchain technology, and the potential growth come mass adoption from other social media platforms, steem sure does have a bright future in my opinion.

Right on! I've heard some refer to Steemit as, "The perfect way to introduce people to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology" because of the fact most users on the platform don't even realize how it works. They slowly learn over time which is a great way to get people excited about the new technology.
You mentioned Steem is still highly used despite the high volatility. Which is normal in my opinion, because the blockchain is constructed in a way that gives value through usage itself, apart from the rewards.
Exactly, unlike Bitcoin users which are dropping BTC because of the volatility. With Steem there is such an application in place that users aren't bothered so much by the volatility. Of course, Steem isn't called the "Gold of Crypto" either lol.
I am a big supporter of blockchains that provide real usage value, other than through the crypo itself. The engine should be the blockchain, not the crypto.
However, I don't easily dismiss bitcoin for two, maybe three reasons:

really, this steemit is really unique and very sophisticated. ranging from the many tools available to help us, as well as the many additional applications that are directly connected to steemit like Dtube, Dmania, busy and others. so tidao wonder if steemit is one of the very sophisticated system blockchain.

Thanks for the video post. You are correct that Steem has advantages over bitcoin. And I think one of the main reason people do not want to invest in Bitcoin as it stands today is because of those problems mentioned in your blog.
But if Bitcoin goes adopts the lightning network payment protocol it will solve a lot of its problems.
I agree with you completely. That will change everything for BTC and it's transactions will increase with the speed.

Yep, one would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see the incredible growth future of Steemit.
Steem is a living crypto, meaning it is connected to community vestment!

I'm very interested in testing out dlive, although I probably wouldn't use it on a regular basis. I personally prefer pre-done video rather than live. But there are many channels (such as @jongolson) where live streaming fits perfectly for what they're doing. Anyways, I'll definitely be testing it out in the future. I'll give everybody an update beforehand though so you know when I go live. :)
Yes we can see that steemit is like something we have never seen before . As a new steemian it looks great to invest and more importantly safe investment . so that is why it is growing so fast . People are investing without hesitation. and probably after 1 or 2 years it may become worlds no 1 social platform and steem may become highest cryptocurrency .
. Hope to get early success in steemit and become a part of this family.

Yes I also feel that way. There comes times when new good things are born and Steemit is just growing. I am also investing in the cryptocurrency and I am actually buying as much as I can right now, as that " bleeding" is the best time. I truly beliefe in crypto and its growth and benefits. Just look at Fb's mcap more than 500 B , we know Steemit is better than Fb and it's mcap is only around 1B . Imagine how much steem will grow from here ! Fb is waste of time , we got everything here on steemit . News , gags (dmania ) , dtube , steemchat .
I couldn't agree any more. I haven't logged onto Facebook in a few days. I rarely even go on there anymore. I'm also using Dtube in place of YouTube now which has been a much needed change.
Youtube ads are really irritating , I hope somebody puts entire youtube on Dtube Lol . Is this possible ? will Dtube or Steem face any copyright issues ?

I haven't known before about, that Steem cryptocurrency getting success so fast. I think Users and investors believe more on Steem than other altcoin because you can compare the number of transaction in the last 24 hour is huge. which takes 42%+ part of an active blockchain.

And you're exactly right; there's so much potential here with the open API, developers working around the clock to create (or improve) user interfaces, and the fact that we have SMTs which are launching this year which will allow any web developer to turn their website, forum, or social media site into a Steemit-like site with rewards. So much to look forward to here in 2018 and beyond. :)

Really new here and super excited about everything Steem. I’m invested in others as well....but now experiencing the platform for almost two weeks, I really wish I had the foresight to wait and go heavier on Steem. I’ll keep adding for sure.
What makes this community stand out, are all of the “elders” that go above and beyond to help, guide and support the newbies. There really is support everywhere if you need it.
It will take a while to get the masses over. Maybe a few “household” names to really peak their interest. Along with the uncertainty that they are hearing on mainstream news concerning cryptos.
Will this takeover the Facebooks? Idk. My heart says yes in time. But I think we’ll all be well off with Steem being a viable rival. : )

Steem is the best. I agree with you @brandonfrye. We have a lot of companies trying to get just a platform up. #steem blockchain has done that and are already improving on what they built. This community is the best and very helpful.

I agree @brandonfrye it certainly is one of the more sounds crypto currencies around. Its the only sure fire safety mechanism when the currency is being driven by a solid base such as steemit. Very few coins out there have anything as tangible as here. Sadly since BTC is the standard by which all others are measured negatively impacts strong coins like Steem.

I know, I really wish BTC would either lose more of its dominance or we would get more trading pairs for Steem and the other altcoins so that it wouldn't drive our price so much. Looking forward to a day when that's not the case.
Yes I agree, I am actually preferring ETH over BTC currently it seems to handle the volatility much better some good pairs for ETH on binance i haven’t actually check if it trades against STEEM i’ll have to check

Being new to the Crypto world (about 6 months) and brand new to Steemit (8 days) I can say that from my perspective this is an amazing platform for several reasons. In my very short time here I have learned a few things and can already say that I am truly looking forward to growing stronger with this community of users.
First of all, I am so impressed with the set up of this platform. I feel like there have been so many times in the past where I wanted to share ideas or content but didn't feel that there was a way to see the value of what I was doing. This platform allows users to give you immediate feedback and reward yo for doing a great job. Now as a new user I am still going through the growing pains of trying to build some type of following and learning who I ultimately want to be as a content provider but I am thoroughly impressed with the way in which users in this community can work together.
This leads me to my second point. I have been making an effort to get out and explore the community and comment on the different things that I see and read. The users I have come into contact so far have been extremely welcoming and supportive. I was honestly a little nervous about throwing myself into this but after a week online and a great deal of interactions I can say that I am hooked.
The next thing that stands out to me is the solid Crypto component of this platform. I think that this setup gives Steem a strong backing of users and tech that will continue to see it flourish. It feels like we are just at the tip of the iceberg here and as the user numbers continue to grow and the community grows stronger the currency will become a rock and have a solid value for years to come.
After going through some how to posts I am intrigued by the ease in which you can convert your steem and essentially use your steem to get involved in the cryptocurrency market as a whole. The ease in which you can move funds in or out and between exchanges and the Steem platform is ultra efficient and user friendly. The efficiency leads me to my final point. The Steem platform is incredibly transparent. The fact that every user is able to see all the interactions of every other user means that everything is all open and honest.
To conclude my thoughts I must say that I am completely sold and all in. I'm looking forward to growing here with this community and becoming a long lasting and valuable contributor.

Facebook and Steem platform comparisons are still a little unfair because of previous comments of user community size. But may I just say I dont even post on facebook anymore because of all the hate comments there which dont get penalized like they do here. That builds a positive community and hopefully it will be enough to keep this platform going and growing!!

Great video. The stat hits me the most is the activity stat. It shows what cryptocurrency is all about. Given that Steem has made this ecosystem where people interact and actually use this type of currency to pay for something. To use it in actual transactions in this ecosystem is what makes it great. And you are right, Steem has just gotten some momentum and it is still a long way to go. As long no one gets too greedy, STEEM will plow through other currencies in full steam(pun intended). I love Steemit, I really do. I even have several on my Binance exchange. What bothers me, however, is that Steemit does not produce any revenue like for instance BNB or KCS. Of course there are many investors like me who believe in the project and buy the Steemit tokens but is the platform sustainable without revenue?

Yes, Steemit is great. It is going to have a long lasting place in the blockchain revolution but currency is still the way to disrupt the masses. Currency is going to get the attention. Steemit will always be second to that not #1.
