Some of you may already know this, but I just found out about it today while looking for an answer to a question from another Steemian, so I thought I would pass it along. In the past, you could only send Steem to another person's account as Steem Power using the command-line wallet for Steem. But the Steemit web site can also do it now, here's the steps:
- Go to your wallet page (eg. https://steemit/@my_account_name/transfers)
- Click on the amount of Steem in your account and select "Power Up" from the menu that appears.
- In the "Convert to Steem Power" dialog, press the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the dialog and the dialog will change to give you the option to send some of the Steem in your account as Steem Power.
- Enter the account name and amount of Steem Power you want to send and press Ok, and you're done.
Nice simple guide. Not sure if you did it intentionally...

Yes, it was a typo, thx for correction!
Hi blocktrades, please how may i contact you. i tried to send SBDs for dogecoin and still haven't received the dogecoin. Does it take so long. Can you please help me check?
Do you know if is this the Steem Power delegation feature announced in the last hardfork? Thanks in advance!
No, this actually gives the steem permanently to the other person as Steem Power, whereas the Steem Power delegation is more like a loan that you can get back later. AFAIK, Steem delegation can only be done from the command-line wallet right now.
Awesome
A nice and easy to use informative guide for our newcomers! Thanks @blocktrades.
Thank you for visiting my post. Appreciate.
BTW useful info. Have an inspiration day ;)))
nice guide. send me some. i am new here.
It's a great way to welcome your friends and lock them in as well! Don't forget people!
Yes, I also want Steemit to add the ability to allow users to create accounts for their friends via the web site as well and pre-fund them with some Steem Power. This is possible through the command-line wallet now, but most people don't have access to that.
Yea it needs to be super easy to do...
Thanks for the heads up, I had no clue this was possible ! Thanks @blocktrades :)
Thank you very much for sharing @blocktrades this will be very useful for all steemians

You Rock!

Thank you @blocktrades for the info,
I know now how to send steem power to others.
Good job !!
maybe someday another person sent me Stem Power :( #Hope @blocktrades
Amazing post !!
Really helpful article thank you!!!♢
this has been working for more than 6 months :D
Honestly, I'm not surprised that that is the case. I always use the cli wallet to send funds, so it's never come up for me till today when I was asked about it. I'm glad it was added, since it's kind of a cool way to gift some Steem and encourage participation at the same time.
To be fair its been crazy lately with the new influx of newcomers and how many steps back you some times have to think and see it from their perspective when they ask some questions that for us active Steemians nowadays are obvious and we don't even think about it.
Yeah no kidding.. I'm confused as hell right about now.
Great! Thanks to this✌
Excellent tutorial..
Good information transfer.

Has support for SBD been pulled from Blocktrades.us?
No, but we were undergoing scheduled maintenance for about an hour about the time you asked this question, so I would guess that's what you encountered. All the wallets are back up now, including Steem wallet.
Awesome! I panicked for a second, Blocktrades is my favorite service for SBD exchange. Thank you for your timely response.
Whilst fumbling around with my wallet a little while ago I also found out this could be done. Sent some to a member on steemit who encouraged me to join up to it in the first place. Was a pitiful amount but now that I know I can be more generous in the future :-)
