A buddy of mine recently predicted that bitcoin will die and be forgotten! My response: Bitcoin wont die entirely, ever! There are cold paper wallets that have been lost or destroyed due to fires that could never be retrieved. Look at it as a small donation to the bitcoin market capitalization. Bitcoin was designed to evolve; evolutionary species have evolved to adapt to their environment, but just in a different form; smaller, more efficient, etc. So no, bitcoin wont be dead nor will it be forgotten. I understand that perhaps bitcoin wont be the number 1 currency in the future, but bitcoin made it possible for other cryptocurrencies to emerge thanks to its underlying block-chain technology. Perhaps, bitcoin's next evolutionary species is steem. I don't know for certain, what I do know is that steem was made possible thanks to bitcoin, bitcoin was made possible thanks to the internet.
We could go all the way back to prehistoric times and say all of this was made possible because our clever ancestors decided to carve a stone and make fire. We have been on a path of innovation, we are tool builders by design. Technology is part of who we are. The creator gifted us with the power to create.
@ned & @dan created something that provides us with monetary rewards, that in-turn allows us to live more fulfilling & meaningful life's.
