RE: Steemit, please make an Affiliate program!

You have to think long term though. If Steemit would go "mainstream" (it will never reach the likes of Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, etc. in its current state unless it undergoes some serious changes, but I think Steemit could hit 10M+ followers) then the price of Steem + SBD will go up. If that goes up, there may be less rewards but the payouts still will be much bigger if the price doubles, triples, etc. I think at the end of the day, people are selfish. If there wasn't incentive already, there'd be way fewer people here.

Sort:

I don't know if it would with the voting system as is. Because let's say Steemit did get FB HUGE - minnows would drown. People with influence with hoard their votes, even the average person would hoard theirs. All categories would be filled and your (general your, not you lol) post would never see the light of day .

The already super famous with massive platforms would just spread on out over here, see that they could make even more money, and become instant whales.

I don't know. I want Steemit to stay small for a while. I'm not an economist - so maybe I'm being pessimistic, and I could be dead wrong - but imagine that ridiculous family famous for nothing else but plastic asses and being uber rich on here? Imagine seeing the feed full of that crap?
