It is mostly about keeping in the race, you will slowly get more and more people with you =)
I just checked your steemit blog and realized that you don't have introduction post. In order to catch the attention of others you can show yourself with a sign wrote with your username and the date of the post. And in tags you put as first "introduceyourself". This way you will show to the community that you are verified user... for instance this is the only reason I am not giving you an upvote right now =)
