Hey Steemians,
I wanted to talk to you today about a few things here I have had some messages on discord for people asking me for advice so I wanted to make a video listing a few tips that worked for me and can possibly help others get noticed more.
So here are my Tips:
Make sure your account is verifiable: I know this may sound silly but it is a critical step here on Steemit because there are so many fake accounts that people will need to know you are who you say you are. For me, I did an introduction video on Dtube and I also post videos about Steemit or something along those lines. I always recommend others to do introductions also because it is effective.
Make sure you are putting out (NEW) content: There are a lot of seasoned creators from Youtubers or other social media platforms that are great at what they do but are uploading old youtube videos and hoping for the best...while there are no specific "rules" against this I don't think it should be encouraged. We are trying to grow Steemit and I think it's only fair to post your new content here too just like with any other platform...and I really believe people notice.
Try to Improve: Make sure you try to improve. I understand some instances where it is not feasible to upgrade equipment or cameras etc... but it is still possible to put more effort in posts either videos or blogs. I know I can improve on putting some more text underneath my video posts because there are some people that want to read instead of watch a video. The way I look at it ask yourself, would you watch your own videos? or read your own posts? This may not work for everyone but I'm more critical about myself so it works for me haha. Not trying to be mean but I think this is an important step forward, for anyone who wants to succeed here.
Nobody expects perfection: This one is self explanatory, I think. I'm still learning a lot this whole video thing is really new to me so I'm not expecting to be perfect, in fact I know i wont be and that's ok. Steemit is a nice community so you will more than likely receive help if you need it than criticism.
That's all, hope you enjoy!

Thabks for sharing dear. I've learnt one or two helpful tips. Thanks
Your welcome, I'm glad you learned something!
Quality and not quantity and always improving yourself! So true @alphasteem. Theres alot of 'competition' here and many get frustrated for not being seen. By sticking to posting what you really love/believe in, be yourself and share the love and support to others gives a great opportunity as well to be shown.
If you always look at votes and income it may be very distressing at times, especially when you sit hours on a post! We are all in the same boat and everyone has been there and felt the same. But whatever you do, dont give up because of that. Simply enjoy the ride and just keep steeming, just keep steeming ... 😄❤
Great post, luv! Very inspiring and helpful. 🤗
By the way, maybe think about posting a behind the scenes video! 😉
Yeah your absolutely right! Thanks for watching. How funny, I actually did a short "behind the scenes video I filmed yesterday" It wasn't behind the scenes of the cooking videos, I want to do that too but I did one just showing what equipment I use for my filming I will probably post it in the next few days or so. Great minds think alike. 🤣
@alphasteem LOL! youre absolutely right- great minds think alike!!!! I'm looking forward to that video :)
Thank you for your great tips! :)
Your very welcome! Hope to see you around discord sometime.
Thank you for the tips @alphasteem. So many cool videos. I can see a lot of time and effort is required! I've only recently been more active on steemit since I was asked to be a food blog mentor so I figured I should make more effort if I have to set an example! I put a lot of effort into my wrting and photos, but I think I need to move on to videos but I hate seeing myself on video! How do I get over this fear?!
Lol! Thats what ive been thinking myself @foodflaneur:) you dont have to start with having yourself on video. Maybe start by showing on video the step by step process of preparing the food. (Filming only the food)Get used to it and then dive in with a video with yourself as well. Ill probably start videos soon as well. I already got t a few recomendations from steemers on some simple video editors ill chrck out soon :)
Hope it helps!
Good luck🤗
hey @cooknbake! Your right, you don't have to have yourself on the videos. I do however highly recommend to everyone to do an dtube intro video with yourself on the video just to let everyone know who you are and the whole dtube community. Other than that your blogs are amazing so I know your videos will do good too! Can't wait to see.
Thanks for that luv! and the dtube intro video - is a good idea to start with @alphasteem! I just hate seeing myself on video- ha ha ! feels weird talking to "myself"! I guess you get used to it though once you jump in . But itll happen :) I really want to start vlogging!
Thank you @cooknbake, really good advice about weaning myself onto videos! :-)
@foodflaneur - looking forward to see your 1st video! 😀 :))
I’ll keep you posted ;-)
hey @foodflaneur. I did some blog posts early in my steemit journey and really wasn't able to get much going on them, so I went to dtube and I enjoy doing video more than blog posts either way. I know how much effort goes into blog posts, also a lot of effort goes into videos and editing but I like it more and got rewarded more. With the fear thing, I can't say I'm completely over it either. What I will say is that I am my harshest critic, I notice all my expressions or weird habits that I do during the video but others really don't notice that and they appreciate the videos, so that is one way I can get over the fear, also practice. For dtube I really really recommend doing an intro video, doesn't even have to be about food just simple and explain what type of videos you will be posting just so the dtube community will get to know you. Hope this helps, also gave you a follow 😀 hope to see a vid one day.
Thank you so much @alphasteem :-) You’ve given me the courage and inspiration to do an introduction video now! Well not right now, but definitely soon! I love how you’re so chilled out in yours, I hope I can get to that level! Do you have any tips on how to make a good video about food? Like what do you pay attention to in yours to make them so appealing and clear? Also I noticed that there is dtube and dlive- what is the difference?! Sorry, I’m so bad with the internet and technology- everyone I know is shocked I even have a blog!
being beautiful like you... Jk, very good tips, time to put them on practice.
Thanks, I really don't believe that is a factor here on steemit because there are all kinds of successful people.
Awesome advices..
I have somehow given up on trying to be noticed and just posting my work so I can have something to look at when/if I get old..
Its a win-win situation :)
It's not an easy thing, hopefully in the future some of the wealth will be in the hands of more people and create a "middle class" which would provide more benefit for more people. I really didn't gain much traction until I started to do dtube and join community discords.
i liked you tips, it helps us to improve in steemit, thnaks a lot and greetings
your welcome!
Thank you for sharing this. ^^
your welcome
Great advice @alphasteem. Thank you
Your welcome!
Thank you for sharing your experience and advices because I was feeling down these days because I wasn't getting the rewards I thought I could recieve, and I felt my content wasn't very well.. but I'm going to try to use this failure as a opportunity to grow.
hi @claubzs, your content looks great. I was never able to gain much traction with blog posts, that was just my experience. I know others have done very well with it. Also join some community discords it will help a lot if you are not already.
Great advices! 👍 thanks for your effort to share your experiences you made, and don’t making a secret out of this ✌️😀
Absolutely! That's what Steemit is all about. Your welcome!
Ahhh... Nice and practical tips:)
But about D-tube videos , I bet I am fractionally as pretty as you are my lady, so I doubt that I would garner much traction that way:)lolzzz
Well give it a shot if your interested, I don't think that is 100% true, there are many people doing very well on dtube.
Yes this may be very good
Thank you
Thank you so much
Your very welcome!
Another tip for steemians: Wear a Goldmoney shirt and a Mene charm!!!
I can't believe I forgot to mention that one! haha.
You are right 👉 @goldmatters
Great tips! I think just seeing a face and being real helps a lot! You got that down! Keep rockin!!
Agreed! And likewise! I learned from the best 😉
Awesome post! Great tips! :) No wonder why my best performing YouTube video didn't gain any traction here... ;) lol
lol, well I guess these are partially my opinion but I think it's the overall mindset of steemit also.
hahaha yeah.
You are quite correct what you're saying, and it is important that we be patient too :)
Thats very true. I forgot to add that one there!
Next time you put :))
Way to go on upvotes! Keep it up :) I think I saw you around in a discord group.
Thanks! Keep steeming!
Thanks for sharing knowledge and you have nice kitchen ..........alpha
Your welcome, and thank you. It's my favorite place to be!
Thanks for showing your favourite place :).....
and Thanks for reply also .......
Thanks for sharing these important tips @alphasteem...
But i have a query how does reputation and steem power effect the visibilty of a post ?
I don't think reputation effects visibility much at all... Steem Power does because the more you have the more your upvote is worth and you can become more visible by pending payout of the post. Hope that helps!
Well thanks for the information @alphasteem.
Enjoy your day :)
You got a 55.56% upvote from @botcoin courtesy of @infoslink!
Thank you very much @infoslink !
These are great points!
I see a lot of content recycling and it makes me a little crazy.
At least put a smidge of effort in ya know!?!
Great vlog!
I know....I agree I don't even double post anymore to dlive cus I don't feel right and people notice I really believe that. Thanks for your input Beth. You know your stuff girl.
Thank you for sharing such a great suggestive post. It will surely be of great use to me.
Just found this post by accident, thank you for the tips, am trying each day to improve on my posting, so any advice is always welcome :-)
stay blessed...
love it! thank you! c",)
Think this is some good advice, ive been on steemit since December and recently have started focusing on quality of quantity (making sure I am saying somethign interesting) and I have found it has helped.
