As I am using steemit more and more it seems to me like it needs a direct message function.
If steemit wants to grow as a platform and get more recognition, i think it should establish an easy function to send direct messages to other users. This makes people feel more like they are interacting on a social media platform.
When I'm using steemit, I don't have the feeling like I'm interacting with other users in real time. If users would get this feeling, then I think steemit would have more potential as a social media platform, because in my opinion direct messaging is a function that every social network needs.
What are your thoughts on this topic?
There is already a DM option. Just send 0.001sbd(could be more if you are generous :) ) to your target and put your message in the memo. The only catch is that your message would be public. Well you asked for Direct Message right not a Private message :)
You have a point! Maybe we'll have this feature sometime in the near future.

yes, of course its about transparency. but in my opinion, this is what mainstream users would miss on this platform.
Yeah... I guess they'll get use to it :)
