Steemit is changing a lot of people's lives! Only in the past two days I've seen it help @darthnava a fellow steemian in need and also it helped buy @papa-pepper 8 acres of land, I also read it bought a brand new car for a couple from south America too.

Oh I'd say it probably already has!
Steem creates company-like structures with income streams. Haven't heard of it buying one yet.
I wouldn't be surprised if earnings from steemit has helped someone start their own company
