RE: Steemit addiction and sleep deprivation

You get a reward even from 15m+... earlier than that it is assumed you are a bot and the upvote value is going straight to the content author. 30m+ is where you, as a curator, get the maximum value back - but if there's a lot of votes between 15m-30m, you'll be behind the queue of other curators and it can actually give you less curation reward than someone who voted at 15m. It depends on the vote count.

Good to know! Personally, I've found that the curation awards amount to just a fraction of 1 cent, so I don't find them to be all that lucrative at the moment although I still vote in the hopes that they will start to become valuable over time, to stay active on the site and also to reward quality posts. So overall, the curation award doesn't matter that much to me right now so I just go ahead and vote even though I'm within the 15 min. window.

Obviously it makes a difference if you have lots of SP (I don't - but just saying)

20 votes a day keeps the SP blues away. Curating doesn't earn much per vote, but it makes your SP balance go up that much faster. And earning 10+ SP a week via curation isn't unreasonable and it keeps you engaged.

Can confirm the sleep dep is a big problem. There's going to be a medical condition with Steem in the name, just a matter of time...
