I read in a Reddit thread once in comment that Steemit doesn't work.
The guy also said how Steemit is just a big circle jerk for people inside.
Obviously, that guy had no idea how Steemit worked.
But you know what a circle jerk means right...?
TOP DEFINITION
circle jerk
When a bunch of blowhards - usually politicians - get together for a debate but usually end up agreeing with each other's viewpoints to the point of redundancy, stroking each other's egos as if they were extensions of their genitals (ergo, the mastubatory insinuation). Basically, it's what happens when the choir preaches to itself.
That's supposed to be a funny definition of course.
But I do wonder, is it true?
Everyday, when I check out what's hot and trending here, the top posts are about Steemit, blockchain, EOS and cryptocurrency.
That's all fine and dandy, it'd most definitely shoot way over the head of a newbie who comes in here, overriding the simplicity of what Steemit is about.
Like it or not, that's the first impression many people would get here and I think it's going to turn off a ton of them.
What do YOU think?
Follow me here on Steemit! @aldentan
I am new here and I am trying to figure it out. I have made a few posts, but I really don't understand how to get things moving to make money here.
me too
You don't make money here. You post creative original content and people may reward your efforts. As for the circle-jerk I've seen posts about how to introduce yourself do better then introductions, a lot or this community is built on what is acceptable in this community, hopefully that does die down, but right now it's so fresh and new.
@nakemac Not to offend, merely point out, the confederate flag may have a following on 4CHAN, but here you may be harder pressed to acquire a following. Like real life, presentation counts.
maybe we should have an option for new topics to be added to the system
it kindof good idea to start with simpel stuff like Steemit, blockchain, EOS and cryptocurrency those are the things why we are here ....you know.
