Good evening Steemit! I am Charmyn and I’m a diploma semester 4 student in music and taking classical piano as my applied instrument. Today I’m going to talk about my piece entitled Awakening in the Wood no. 12, opus 109.
In the 19th century (romantic period), composers tend to write character pieces. Among the composers, Friedrich Burgmüller, a German pianist and composer, is one of them. He gives a specific title for each etude that he composed. In opus 109, he gives many interesting titles such as ‘Fountain’, ‘Pearls’ and ‘Thunderstsorm’. The piece I’m going to to perform is one of the etudes. The etude itself portrays the character of being joyful and lively. This piece consists of many staccato and chords, and it’s played in the key of F major.
I hope you will enjoy my performance!
