Hello everyone, I have been busy for the past days that I slipped the chance of joining Steemit Ironchef Contest.
But today let me introduce my simple menu to you, we called it Afritadang Balun-Balunan.
Balun-balunan is chicken gizzard, yes you heard it right and actually this is one of my favorite part in chicken.
So let me show you my ingredients.
250 ml tomato sauce
500mg of chicken gizzard
canned garden peas
1 small size of carrots
garlic and onion
Preparations of ingredients
Cut all the ingredients into small sizes uniform to peas.
While I am preparing for the ingredients, I boil the chicken gizzard until it is soft enough to bite.
Cooking Procedures:
- Sauteed onion until caramelized, then put garlic and wait until brown.
- Sauteed chicken gizzard
- Put tomato sauce just to cover the dish.
- Add about 1/2 cup of water
- Add carrots and peas.
- Put salt and pepper to taste
- Simmer until the meat is soft.
Done cooking, my menu is ready to eat.

I still remember back in the days where I used to enjoy chicken gizzard, but these days it's rare to find them in my country.
I simply love that amazing texture of chicken gizzards...and here we also add chicken liver together when we cook them!
