The other day, I was doing a ton of research trying to figure out how I can optimize the chances of getting certain factors to play out in my favor on Steemit. One of those factors was posting time.
(Scroll down to see the infographic)
I looked it up on Google and I saw pages upon pages of people who were wondering the exact same thing. So I thought, “there has to be an answer”.
To solve the mystery, I found the information I could based on graphs and charts by these two posts:
@bitcalm - When is the Best Time to Publish on Steemit
@scrawl - The Best Time to Post on Steemit
I also researched the optimal posting times for other social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, and so on to try and find specific patterns in the data.
I found these amazing looking infographics by CoSchedule.com and I decided to replicate them only this time, make one for Steemit.
Without further ado, here are the best times to post on Steemit:
According to the graphic, the best time to post is on
Monday and Thursday between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm EST.
Note: There is a significant dip before and after this time range.
Make sure to save this infographic if you ever need it.
Conclusion
If you notice any mistakes, have questions, or comments, please leave them down below and I'll try to answer them the best I can.
Happy Steeming :)

Another thing to consider, is that if you would like to focus on gaining individual followers and engaging with other people, it is advantageous to do so during the slower times when there is less people competing for attention.
I think it's also good to consider what type of posts you want to post at slower times and which ones at busier times.
When I check out someones profile I'm more likely to follow them (and puruse their blog and replies) if I see that within the last few weeks they've posted every other day or have replied to a lot of content. Depending on how long they've been around.
It's been interesting to check out the type of posts that do well on the blogs of people I follow. Doing well meaning a good discussion not just pay out. These things can tell you a lot. And I see there is a lot more diversity of interests around here than it looks like from the Trending page. A great thing!
I agree. An active page is appealing because it tells you that the author is actually taking it seriously and values their readers comments and feedback.
On the trending page, the authors don't have enough time in their busy schedule to respond to comments. But, it is good to see a Steemit celebrity reply to people every now and then.
Thanks for your comment by the way, I really appreciate it.
I go by the philosophy that the best time to post to steemit was yesterday, the second best time to post to steemit, is today. :)
In all seriousness, that is a seriously nice infographic you got going on there. I saved it to my phone. Also, some great resource links. Thanks. Upvoted and followed.

There was a site that published information about when it was most optimal to list your item on ebay, back when I was selling on there regularly. It worked for the most part. For some reasin they went away :( Thank you for this great information :)

Thanks steemrocket! I had been wondering why some of my posts got more attention than others, even when it seemed the best content was sometimes getting lesser votes/comments. Perhaps it's the time that I posted that mattered most?
Great post, you have solved my pondering of when is the best time to post on Steem :)
I can't believe this post only made $0.21. It was so valuable! If it was not too late, I would upvote it again.
Thank you for this! ☺️such a huge help for me, am new to steemit 🙋 and doing all the research and was able to drop at by, now my only problem is that I am on the opposite time zone because I live in the Philippines, this is like how my call center life was, working on graveyard shift but steemit isn't as bad because I only have to post my content, not work all night like a vampire! 😂
Keep up the good work! See ya around.

Thanks! A year later and this post is still helpful. :)
Thanks Man. Going to hold back on my new post for a few hours ;)
I actually figured this out by posting around 6-10pm Pacific time and seeing no action, then i post in the daytime and i see upvotes... if you are posting at night the next morning posts basically push your posts down and so they dont get viewed unless people search by tags
Great post! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! I'm new here, so this is helpful!
Extermely usefull post thank you
so the best time to post is 2pm everyday other than weekends?
thank you for this - i am new at steemit - so i will try this out
Appreciate this post. Will take advantage of this info!
Steemrocket have you updated this research since two years ago! Just curious as Steemit has gotten more users since then if the best time has changed? I am new to this, and trying to figure it out. The thing I’m really trying to do is create good useful content, and using the tags appropriately. But knowing the best time to post is important as well. Thanks for the info, if you have any updates I’d love to hear about it.
Hmm. Very interesting.. Wonder what it's like this time - 2 years later.. Very nice research though - I actually thought that people was more active during the weekends... But no..
Thank you for the info and graphic! Was looking around for an answer to what seemed like completely random patterns to my posting. Just a newbie trying to figure things out here in steemit, very happy you posted this! Thank you
