Helo steemians, how are you today? Hopefully always in good health. On this occasion, I will write about: Knowing the Causes of Acute Kidney? Hopefully this article is useful for all blog readers.

Understanding Kidney

Kidneys are excretory organs in vertebrates that look like peanuts. As a part of the urinary system, the kidneys function to filter out dirt (especially urea) from the blood and dispose of it along with water in the form of urine. A branch of medicine studying the kidneys and the disease is called nephrology. [Source]

The kidneys are located behind the abdomen or on the right and left the spine, under the liver and spleen. Some of the tops of the kidneys are protected by the eleventh and twelfth ribs. Both kidneys are wrapped in fat that helps to reduce shock to the body.

Kidney has varying weight. Depending on age, sex and body weight. In adults, the average kidney has a size of 11.5 cm in length with a width of 6 cm and has a thickness of 3.5 cm with a weight of about 120-170 grams the size of a fist. In each kidney there is a hilus that functions to connect the thick arteries, renal vein, and ureter.

Kidney Function

Kidney is the structure of body parts that are considered to have the most vital role in the process of human survival. Therefore it is so important to know the function of this part of the body. The kidneys have many functions you need to know about them is to keep blood pressure in the body normal, filter blood, filter and remove toxic substances from processed foods, maintain body fluid balance, maintain blood pressure, regulate acid-base balance (pH) in blood and body fluids, keep bones, regulate the levels of potassium in the blood, regulate the balance of compounds in the body, control blood sugar levels, maintain osmotic pressure, produce substances and hormones, and the last is to maintain blood pH.

What is it, acute renal failure?

Acute renal failure is a condition in which the kidneys are no longer able to function optimally. Kidneys can not dispose of waste metabolism in the body and can not regulate the water and electrolyte balance for the body's needs. In acute kidney kidneys, metabolic waste will continue to accumulate because it can not be fully expressed by the body.

This type of disease can appear suddenly and move quickly, within hours. This disease is very fatal if not handled quickly and precisely. Because it can cause death in a short time. A temporary estimate of the number of patients in this type of patient's hospital is present with 1% of all diseases.

Recognize the symptoms of acute renal failure

Here are some early symptoms of acute renal failure that you should know:

  • You feel more tired and hard to concentrate
Weight loss in kidney function can lead to accumulation of toxins and impurities in the blood. This results in weakening your immune system and you will find it difficult to concentrate because weight loss in kidney function can cause anemia.

  • Having trouble sleeping
If the kidneys do not work optimally then the poison will remain in the blood. This can make you difficulty sleeping.

  • The skin looks dry and itchy
Dry and itchy skin can be one sign of kidney symptoms, it is due to lack of minerals in the body.

  • Excessive urination
You often urinate at night? You need to be wary of that. This is one of the signs of acute renal symptoms because it is caused by the performance of damaged kidney filters.

  • Urine mixed with blood
The kidneys work as a guardian of blood cells in your body. When this does not work, then the blood cells become leaky. So that causes the blood mixed in the urine out through the urine.

  • Foamy Urine
Excessive foam in the urine is a sign of acute renal symptoms.

  • Swelling around eyes
Leakage of proteins in the kidneys can be marked by swelling around your eyes.

  • Swells at the feet
The swelling of the leg is due to nutrient retention.

  • Poor appetite
In addition to some of the above mentioned, decreased appetite also occurs due to damage to the kidneys. This is a very common symptom. This happens due to accumulation of toxins that occur in the body.

  • Have muscle cramps
Muscle cramps occur because of low levels of calcium. If the kidneys do not work perfectly then the muscles will experience cramps.

How acute kidney failure can occur, what causes it?

In medical terms acute renal failure is also often called a suddenly damaged kidney. This causes the kidneys no longer work perfectly so that it can cause complications of diseases caused by unhealthy kidneys.

The inability of the kidneys to filter the waste that goes into it. This causes the incoming waste continues to accumulate, making the kidneys can not work effectively. If this happens, then not only the kidney is the problem, but will cause damage to other organs. So the safety of your life will be threatened.

How did that happen? Acute kidney causes can occur due to low blood volume. Blood flowing into the kidneys is not maximal, ending with sudden kidney damage. In addition, kidney damage can also occur due to heart problems. The weakening of the blood distribution pumped by the heart into the kidneys makes the kidneys do not work well, making the kidneys difficult to filter waste and can cause kidney damage.

In addition, blocking blood flow due to blockage of blood vessels can also cause damage to the kidneys, as is the case in cholesterol patients. Disturbed blood flow makes the blood supply in the kidneys decrease. So it can cause acute kidney damage.

The last thing that can cause damage to the kidneys is the effect of the consumption of certain drugs. Drug-based side effects without doctor's advice and excessive consumption are not likely to suffer damage to the kidneys.

Thanks you very much @mardha

Thanks for all these informative posts! Nice to see something useful on social media for once!

Thanks :)

Informative alright, maybe you should write and tell us how it could be prevented...
Thanks for sharing.

thank you for the input.

very imformative post, most of the point you mentioned i was not taught in the university

yes some people do not care about their health. then this is often considered spele. but this is very dangerous
