I am writing for awareness and my own personal experiences. (I am in no way a doctor.) Celiac Disease and Refractory Celiac Disease are both caused because of what gluten does to the body. Refractory Celiac Disease is a worse form of Celiac disease. It takes a lot longer for the body to heal itself than normal. Most people are not able to resolve the issues that Refractory Celiac disease causes.

To simplify things, gluten from wheat, barley, rye, triticale, and some contaminated oats, have a proteins that literally eat the villi in the small intestines. The two proteins together are called gliadin and glutenin. These are what makes bread hold together and give it it's taste.

A small number of people that have Celiac Disease have Refractory Celiac Disease. These people that have RCD have a harder time absorbing the nutrients the body needs. That is why we must take our health responsibly and take the nutrients we need to function properly. Many auto-immune diseases are masked by Celiac Disease. There are many symptoms that are not related to just intestinal problems. For example, I have Peripheral Neuropathy, Vertigo, Fibromyalgia, multiple Vitamin Deficiencies, and Ankylosing Spondylitis that causes a lot of joint pain. These are symptoms that I have developed over time.

Most doctors are not educated enough to see how this auto-immune disease is more than it seems. They will have people see many specialist for the different symptoms to treat only making things worse with medications that they probably do not need. Be smart about your own personal health because there is only one life in this physical body.

I can't imagine how difficult it would be to have celiac. I am gluten intolerant and live the Paleo lifestyle. I can sometimes stretch the limits when I don't have options available. It would be much more harder if I was celiac. Thanks for sharing

You are very welcome. It can be tough. The worst part is contamination. I prepare most of my meals. I have been gluten free for ten years now but have had celiac disease all my life. Just did not find out until I was in the late teens. Wish you the best! @inspiredfood

Thank you

Keep following me. Ill post alot about health and my experiences with celiac.

Great...will do.
