If you want to learn and explore the concepts of robotics that are probably more like the ones going to be used for future exploration of planets then the Arduino Mega 2560 Robot Tank is a great start with it's arms and 2 DOF pan tilt platform plus it's also got a video camera.

I love DIY projects because quite creative products come out. I can say that the HD video recording feature of this robotic kit is the feature that attracts my attention the most. Because in many robotic kit products, the camera recording is not very good.
