Now, I realise that SteemAustralia would currently have a tiny audience on Steemhunt, but I really want to showcase this as an example of the community spirit that the Steem blockchain brings. I'd love if hunters see this and want to create something similar for their own communities...
The goal of the website is to increase the support of various projects and initiatives by this community, but more importantly, highlight the businesses in Australia that accept cryptocurrency... as a way to push mainstream acceptance of Crypto.
Users can find travel agents, airports, online stores and exchanges that accept Steem or other crypto coins, which helps support those businesses, but also encourages other businesses to make that leap.
The city of Brisbane has always tried to catch up to the economic strength of Sydney and Melbourne, and they've embraced crypto to differentiate, it's really exciting!

Thanks @dray91eu. You're right, this is all about adding value and that sense of community to Steem... I think it's especially useful for new people, Steem can be very confusing at first....

Thank you so much @anthonyde. Australia is a pretty great country, we're very, very lucky in a lot of ways. I love that the government is slowly but surely embracing crypto, and one of the major banks has a huge blockchain project starting up.
Promoting Steemit in any way is just great. I like the way the page is set up. It has plenty of info avaliable. Great hunt!
Thanks Jon Snow! Yeah, I think they've done a great job for it. I really like how they're highlighting the Australian witnesses, and the businesses that accept Steem. I really hope that travel agent does really well for example.

I didn't create the website, I'm just trying to bring attention to it because it's great... and maybe so other community groups can create something similar to help foster Steem acceptance in their community. TeamAustralia is amazing though, I probably wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for their supportive comradiere. Thanks for your comment!
@urbangladiator excellent find, it is incredible what is happening in the blockchain of steeem, there are many very important developments and people very involved to drive steem. Some of the witnesses, maybe you already know, @timcliff is doing something very similar, in this case not only promotes businesses that accept steem as a means of payment, also communicates with businesses and convinces them to accept steem as a means of I do not know if it's okay to comment on this case, but I thought it was great to do it.

Hi @jlufer, thanks for your comment! Yes, Tim has a more world-wide approach, but sometimes it's important to focus on a more local region to try and enact meaningful change. Both projects will absolutely help mainstream adoption of Steem and cryptocurrency, and I'm very glad both are trying to. Thanks again!
Hu @urbangladiator, glad that you mention @teamaustralia community, we are not that far apart. I am from Sabah, Malaysia Borneo. I was intrigued by your mention that some members accept steem as payment on the travel business. We have the similarity here, I am doing the same as well, accepting steem and sbd as payment for hotel booking in Malaysia or ASIA, and also tour around Malaysia and Borneo.
Do you mind to hook me up, who are those steemians that accept steem as payment in their travel business.
