Future of urban mobility

I like this, but the makers have made a huge claim so I had to delve a little further and it wasn't too long before I found a problem. Nowhere in their sales pitch do they mention the range!!

They mention moving around city centres, which suggests to me the range isn't great. Nowhere does it mention commuting so I wonder whether we need to whizz around city centres when normally we would probably walk, or use existing public transport. Too dangerous for the road, too dangerous for the footpaths, I question its credentials as a serious transport option.

That said, it's a cool thing and when taken in the context of being a fun personal mobility device, then it becomes a whole different story. It uses the really great latest airless tyre designs and has all the App trickery you can imagine, including locking the front wheel, being sold as a security feature but seriously, if someone were going to steal it, they'd simply pick it up and walk off with it!!

Nice bit of kit, but being oversold I think. If I wanted to stand up all the way to work, Bangkok BTS in rush-hour provides this already!!
