Now, this is a use case for plastic. Hopefully these roads will last a lifetime saving cities a lot of cost, while still being world class roads. It it can't be destroyed find a use for plastic's permanency. Great hunt.

@themanualbot you are right in everything you say, there are already regualciones in several countries where the use of plastic is not allowed and in its replacement the biodegradable bags, this will contribute a lot

I have seen this before, it was actually invested in India and they still make use of it. My country has tried or is trying to make use of this technology and I think it is one of those that will save us a lot of health hazards and garbage disposal problems. This is an Awesome Hunt!

This is fantastic. Not only is the road 100% recycled material, it is actually a superior option as it can hide cabling, pipes and stormwater drainage inside its hollow shell. Plus it lasts up to three times longer than conventional road surfaces. There is so much to like about this innovation.

I would love to see such roads and would also love to drive on such roads..it has multiple advantages as you mentioned . At the same time it seems impracticable and tedious job.

It is the best method I have seen to recycle the plastic that abounds in the world, streets would be made a thousand times faster than what is currently done and we would end up with the environmental problems that we have thanks to the contamination of the plastics.

Great hunt
Plastic is a waste and have many environmental and health hazards is a known fact ,Now we need to find ways eirher to avoid using plastic in our daily life or put this plastic to good use . Plastic road is the solution ,it can have two way benifts first being putting these non renewable plastics to better use and second is to make durable and long lasting roads .

Plastic waste is the biggest problem for the environment. It takes so long years before it disappears in ground. Recycling it helps to prevent it and best way to do it is using it for big products. Imagine how many km's can you build and I think this can be one of the biggest solution for it.

This one needs to be installed by every city. Plastic is already a big problem for environment and this one brings the solution for it. It uses recycled plastic and the system and installation is easier than a regular asphalt. Great hunt

Wow what an amzing use case for recycled plastic. It's cheaper and faster to build road and highways with than concrete. Plus the plastic is more durable and can withstand higher temperature fluctuations.

Advantages:-
(1) While plastic is challenging waste in these days this type of innovation and utilization of plastic waste to construct road can really bring a large scale utilization of plastic waste which is threat to sanitation.
(2) Cables, ducts, pipeline can be taken underneath it.
(3) It is more durable and capable of resisting stresses coming from the wheel load.

i like the idea but i can't help but feel we will see the news with all these melted plastic roads in sustained heatwaves. ... but hey if it works, then great! REUSE THAT PLASTIC! :)

well if it works, it's a game changer, if not, well. .. we end up with sticky roads melting so we can't get anywhere. ... at least it's not gonna be in the ocean as much.. we can but hope on that score right?
