RE: steem2wls - Cross-post your Steem posts to Whaleshares

in #steemhunt6 years ago (edited)

I know what canonical links are, tyvm. In fact I raised it with the first WordPress. To Steem plug in creator already, long before SteemPress.

Sadly enough the keynesian comparison of high content volume does not necessarily result in token value.

If Medium struggles, because they opted for a contrary revenue model... why do you think that cross-posted flood (without original growth platform like the "leading social media sites" first developed) will bring any value?

Did you know there were times when Google actually drove traffic to both FB and Twitter? There were even times when it showed live results directly from the SDK and Firehose.

It doesn't matter to me. I'm not knocking your plug in. I'm just saying that as things stand this plug in will further contribute to WLS being DOA due to cross-posted content flood.

If anybody thinks that will contribute to any value of token... then, yes I'm totally and utterly stupid and don't understand a thing of the world. Let alone of what I've done since 2007: user generated content platforms.

As said... I raised the issue in the Discord for WLS. And I appreciate you have designed a premium model, that's rather smart.

That's all.

Sort:

The value of a platforms and its associated token mainly grows with the amount of active users. Does a higher amount of (non-exclusive) quality content result in a higher amount of active users? We believe so.

That's assuming that cross-posted content is higher quality, right?

Uncle Keynes is proud of your opening sentence.

Anyway, to each their own belief. I prefer looking at the struggles Medium had and learn from them, rather than thinking that thousands and thousands cross-posted posts every hour increase the value.

Steemhunt as a "quality" platform still has a lot to be worked on but I can tell you things were much worse not so long ago.

I truly belief the purpose and idea of this tool is well meant. But maybe talk with @themarkymark and/or @patrice and ask them what will happen with the tool and what is the average quality. At least the premium model is a spam deterrent.

If steem2wls is used to post spam or plagiarism implementing a blacklist is always possible.
