I'm just sorry it took me so long to realize what all you are really up against where you are. It amazes me that people can reach adulthood and remain that clueless. Sigh.

It's definitely a tough go here. A few days ago I learned that the Sheriff's Office managed to identify and charge one individual for dumping a dog. The case went to court, and our wonderful General District judge fined him $25. That's an outrage. It didn't even pay the officer's salary for the time he spent putting the case together. But that's the root of the problem here--lack of appreciation by community leadership for how such things impact our society. I'll be posting more about this situation as FOIAed documents are made available to me.

Which just goes to show that a lot of judges shouldn't be, not that we didn't already know that.
This sort of mentality exists where I am too, but happily it is the exception, and not the rule. Not that it makes anything like this more tolerable.
I'll be interested in reading the posts once you get them out there.
