Some kind of cacybubonic virus has invaded his body and microscopic replicants are being created every millisecond! The RNA viral strands are composed of letters that spell out, D R A I N T H E R E W A R D P O O L. These RNA replicants have taken over the Steem Gnome's brain functions! He will soon infect the entire Steemit community. He must be stopped!

I say we find a garden , lure him there and get him drunk, then we reverse engineer the crypto keys and hijack the infected gnome , then we can sell him on the black market , or set him up with a role in the new WarZ or Residen Evil , that would shurely be worth it.

Hoping not to sound completely foolish, but is draining the reward pool a thing? There does seem to be a defeated air around here lately, I had to talk two friends away from the ledge recently, and a couple of others are taking a time out. @sigmajin was basically boot-stomped just for proposing an idea to create a balance and seems to have disappeared since then. It might be coincidental but I can't help wondering if resteeming his posts and defending him against being accused of promoting censorship and having an agenda to take out pornography (for which I see no basis whatsoever, he was only talking about low quality posts being way overpaid, not specific genres) might have put me on some kind of blacklist.
I take a break every now and then. I think it's healthy... I keep getting drawn back in. I think many of us go through the cycle now.
I'm thinking you're right, and I also have to eat a little crow. It's funny how you get the boost you need at the exact right moment sometimes, or possibly the most opportune moment because sometimes it feels a bit like a casino. But there are so many great people here, freedom loving yet extremely diverse, it's amazing and would keep me no matter what.
