56 SBD Charity #Steemgig Offer 7 7 7 πŸŒ€ The Gift Offering, B"H!

in #steemgig β€’ 8 years ago (edited)

Well, there we no takers for the last charity #steemgig. So let's increase the offer and get some food donated this time!

I'm proposing a #steemgig, to give 7 SBD each, to the first 7 steemians who do the following:

#SteemGig Mission Two: Donate at least 1 kg (2.2 lbs.) of Wheat Flour, AND at least 1 litre (33.8 fl. ounces) of Olive Oil, to some food bank or other charity, or say, a local school who could use it. It would be great, if you also gave a 3rd type of food that you connect with emotionally.

Take a photo or two of your gifts.

  1. Do something to make us realize you made the donation, like by attaching a sticker, or paper that says Steemit.com onto your offering. Or by taking a photo of you or someone else holding up the current date and the food.
  2. Take a photo of yourself or someone putting it in the charity's dropbox, or walking into the drop-off centre/charity with it. (Can combine with no. 1 if you can make it clear.) (No need to ever show your face.) (Most grocery stores in my city have local food bank bins, yours might too!)
  3. Make a post on your own blog, with your photos and telling us about what you did, or if you want, about the charity, or who it will benefit. Please tag your post with #steemgig (s). Tag it however else you want too!
  4. Drop a link and a picture if you'd like, to your post in the comments of this article.
  5. Bonus 1 SBD each, and mitzvah/karma/brownie points if you get kids involved in the giving! Knowing the purpose, they could craft the steemit.com sign, and do part of the buying, or the giving for example. Share with us how they participated! Do they have something to say about the experience?

Again, to the first 7 people, 7 SBD for 1 litre of olive oil and 1 kg of wheat flour (any kind,) and ideally plus a 3rd type of food, with some sort of Steemit.com label, given to charity according to the details above. An extra 1 SBD if kids participate. You can make it from @yourself or give it anonymously.

Please see @thatsweeneyguy, @drpuffnstuff and @skye1's posts for examples of how to do it. They amazingly did the last successful charity #steemgig, and donated at least 9 huge bags of clothing, toys, books, and food! You 3 are welcome to participate again, but if there are others, or more than 7, maybe the rewards should go to other participants first?

The offer is valid until post payout. If I wasn't clear on anything, or if you have any questions, please ask!

(Olives on Tree, Oil and DoughModified Oil Bottle, Bread with Oil, Ripe Wheat)

If anyone would like to donate for this or the next charity #steemgig, we could change up the parameters in a way that would suit you. Much appreciation to @steemgigs (@surpassinggoogle) who donated 10 SBD for this round! Thank you!~

I'm also thankful to @thewineman, @drpuffnstuff, @thatsweeneyguy, @contextualize, @jennswall, @macstyly, @steemgigs, @surpassinggoogle, @virtualgrowth, @kus-knee, @stellabelle, @unmean-stweets, @marieta88, and @jocra who resteemed and pushed to help make charity #steemgig a success! Of course thanks are also for the voters and commenters! Your effort will literally warm someone up! Together, may there be many more successes! B"H! If "we're" up to 9 bags already, can our Steemit.com community raise it to 100?!!

We're bringing Steemit and #steemgig (s) into the real world, for Good!

Have Fun! :)

Wow, this is a great initiative. It's just that those 2 items are not very usable here in the Philippines. (Olive oil is also pricey here). I will just upvote and share!

This is great! Cheers! Upvoted.

Thank you :)

Thanks a lot! I will try to make the next #steemgig offer more available to people from anywhere. What equivalent foodstuffs would be commonly used in the Philippines?

If it's non-processed then that would be Rice.

Ok cool! Donating some other cooking/edible oil and an amount of rice roughly equal to the value of 7 SBD would be acceptable to me :)

Okay. I'll see what I can do.

Awesome! That'd be great!

I hope this works out, so I resteemed it.

Oh! That's great, thank you! I hope so too!

Looks like it did!

Great initiative @inphiknit. I can't participate in this one due to lack of time. I will keep an eye out for your next one however ;)

Cheers, thanks! Sure thing, join in next round :)

Glad you caught it ^~

Brilliant! May it support the good life of a deserving family!

Uplifting post. Charity comes from the heart and should be encouraged and promoted where possible. Keep up the good work man.

That's it, sometimes we just need a reminder. I know I do. Thanks very much :)

Very good post to promote charity for needy via steemit!!!

Very kind, thank you! I hope you can participate!

Great initiative - i might check some local charity boxes

Hey all right! Thanks!

Wow #STEEMGIG goes charity!

@inphiknit, I must commend you for this kind initiative. Nice one!

However, in some countries, the prices for purchasing those items you listed, are even higher than the proposed SBD gifts. Furthermore, not everyone uses olive oil for cooking. I think specifics should be reviewed.

Thanks for this charity initiative.

Thanks very much for your comment and appreciation!

I'm sure you are right. But to be honest, for the charity to be a true gift, I intentionally have left the rewards at a level where it roughly equals the cost of the requested items. This way, at least the will, time and energy is the cost to the participant.

I also appreciate that olive oil is not used everywhere. I'm trying to feel this out too! @anandkphoto made a similar comment and I suggested that another oil was acceptable.

It is difficult to find a balance, but I will try to make the next offer more suitable for people in any part of the world. Thank you very much!

I'm glad you are still going strong! My family is not in a position to donate these items currently, but I resteemed and upvoted your post per the usual. I'm looking forward to the day when I can afford to participate! In the meantime I have started my own Kindness Challenge to give back to the community in whatever way I can. The current Challenge has closed, but I will be posting #3 Saturday! Baby steps, you know.

Awesome idea, I followed for more!

I appreciate your desire to participate here, but I'm sure you find lots of ways to do your part in your community...

Thank you so much!

Well, I'm on Steemit now and the community here is so incredible! I'll be moving right along soon. Thanks for sharing the love.

Perhaps they feel have a restriction on the food they are to give out. It is possible that they missed out on the option to give out any food they adore. Several may just have seen the wheat and olive oil part!

I think you might be right, that's why I tried to make it clearer this time, compared to the last one. Guess it's still not good enough, or maybe I've just been too specific entirely... Although, a couple people have said they might participate, so we'll see! Thanks so much for your wisdom^^

this is great ! not sure if people in my neighborhood consume olive oil.
but i will definitely make food donations today !!

Awesome! Maybe there is another vegetable oil that is used near you? Maybe sesame or something?

Best of luck to you ! Upped !πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Here's hoping! Thanks @karenmckersie!

Charity we can do anywhere. Great your using steemit for charity @inphiknit upvote and follow you

May we all (myself included) learn to see the potential charity in each moment too! Thanks and nice to meet you^^

Your welcome, like wise here

Wow. No one is participating again? I suppose I'll go get some food to donate 😢

Everything needs a warm-up^^

That's great!

You're doing great stuff here @inphiknit!

Thanks, B"H! And only with everyone's amazing help! I think I need to formalize and present a goal like @surpassinggoogle's 5000 #steemgigs. But I don't know how I'd phrase something so as not to get locked in on only 1 type of charity. Hmm... If you got any clever ideas, I'm ears^^
