G'day Steemians, this is @stabilowl and Welcome to the First Issue of Steemgg Newsletter. Each week, I will be reporting New games on the Steemgg Platform, reviewing a featured game, and run a competition so that everyone can get involved!

New Games this week

We are pleased to announced that now we have 8 games on our platform! The following games have been uploaded onto our platform in the last two weeks:

3anglez: This game by @inn3r is an exciting dodge'em game where you try to dodge the large falling trianglevand small triangle torpedoes that follows you around.
Ball vs Zombies: This game by @bitgem is like playing pool, except you are trying to use the balls to destroy falling zombies
Mini Steemit: This game by @mini-steemit is actually developed by the steemgg team! Full of Steemian puns, true stories and sarcastic comments
Find the Bones: This game by @kona seems simple enough - catch as many bones as you can with your cute little doggie. But is your eye sight sharp enough?
Procrastination Simulator: This game by @ahmadmanga takes you on a all-to-real journey as a game dev, procrastinating through life

Featured Game: Jump Fatty

As a celebration of our launch, this week's feature game is Jump Fatty, the very first game uploaded onto our platform!

Title.JPG

Jump Fatty is made by @finscn, a brand new steemian who came onto steemit because of our platform! A welcoming addition to the steemit community indeed, but let's concentrate on the game that he had made.

Jump Fatty is a pretty well-done platformer game. But unlike most platformers where the objective is to past as many levels as you can (usually from one side of the screen to the other), Jump Fatty only have a single level. And your job is to survive.

Keys.JPG

You start out with a full bar of Health (the red bar down at the bottom), and as the game starts, you are bombarded with various weapons. We are talking about Shurikens, laser beams, fire storms, cannons - the lot. The only tool you have to survive is to move around (with A/D for left and right) and to jump or double jump (with W or J) to avoid these deadly array of attacks. If you get hit, you die.

Fireballs.jpg

In addition, the health bar at the bottom decreases with time. When your health bar hit 0, you shrivel up and die. The only way to extend your health bar is to pick up bottles of wine and gobble it up. Apart from wine bottles, you can also pick up coins. The coins don't have any use for now, it is really just a trophy for how awesome you are. It may go to the moon one day though.

But the threats are endless. If you get hit, you die. If your health bar run out, you die. And of course, if you fall, you die. And this goes on and on and on. There is no level to pass, no boss to kill, but your awesomeness depends on how long you can survive without dying. I must admit I've got clumsy fingers, and after playing for at least 30 minutes, my high score was still less than 1 minute.

Overall, Jump Fatty was an enjoyable game. It is hard, but it is additive. Every time I got killed I had the urge to try again to try and see if I can survive longer. It is quite successful in getting players hooked. @finscn is very good at updating his game too! So check often to see if there are new stages available!
