Steemfest Blog #3 - Day 1 in Lisbon - part 2

Continuing from THIS POST...

After the dinner at the Centro Cultural De Belém, we piled onto coaches headed for a snooker club, where snacks were provided and there was an open bar.

I chose to partake of the food and much beer and wine. I was milling around, chatting to different people, when this blue haired vision stepped in front of me. It took me a few moments to recognise @lenadr, a long time friend on Steemit and Discord.

We spent the evening chatting, drinking and mingling. One of the people I wanted to meet was @ezzy and he kindly agreed to have his photo taken with me - not so much for me as for @rhondak, as she is a major fangirl of his and his writing. Not only is he an excellent writer, but both he and his lovely wife are thoroughly nice people.

The party spilled out to the front of the club, and this is where I met @martibis, and we chatted about The Writers' Block project and his own project, @steemitworldmap.

You may be able to tell from my look in that photo that the wine and beer were starting to take effect. Still, I continued drinking and @lenadr was shortly joined by her sister, who happens to live in Lisbon. We soon decided we'd had more than enough and took a leisurely stroll through the streets of Lisbon, in the hunt for kebabs.

Kebabs were not forthcoming, so @lenadr's sister ordered an Uber and dropped me off at my hotel, before continuing to her apartment. Remember my new phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 I got a few short days before my trip to Lisbon? I had scribbled down the code to let myself into my hotel on it so, in a slightly drunken state, I rummaged through my pockets, my bag, my pockets some more and then emptied my bag on the street. I couldn't believe it...I had lost my precious new phone! As luck would have it, I remembered to slip a strip on paper with the door entry code into my wallet, so at least I didn't have to sleep on the street that night.

I got back to my room, fired up my iPad, and tried to get in touch with @lenadr, knowing I definitely had my phone when I got in the Uber, so it HAD to be in the car. Panic set in as I didn't get a reply. As hard as I tried I couldn't stop thinking about it and sleep was elusive my first night in Lisbon. I couldn't have had much more than four hours sleep.
