RE: Learning Web Development at 32 Years Old: My First 7 Months of Learning With freeCodeCamp, Viking Code School, Udemy, Frontend Masters & Thinkful

Nice progress! Never too late to start, and web dev is an exciting place in 2018.

Do you have a github I can follow? If you don't, MAKE ONE AND POST EVERYTHING THERE. Don't feel like your stuff isn't "good enough", just using git regularly shows other devs, and employers, that you are serious about programming.

Btw, are you located in Tokyo still? I've been involved in the tech scene here a while now, I can definitely introduce you to the right people if you want to start looking for an intern. I know you speak good Japanese so that shouldn't be a problem :)

Sort:

I do have a github! My handle there is the same as on Steemit (jeffbernst). I've been trying to commit more because I've heard the same advice from other people that it's important to commit often to show that I'm actively learning.

Actually I'm back in the States now. If I end up getting a work-from-home sort of gig at the end of Thinkful I'm hoping to spend at least a few months in Tokyo though! Would definitely love to meet up when I go back and get involved in the tech scene over there. Thanks for the offer :D My Japanese is getting a little rusty so I hope I can go back soon!
