As a first iteration, simply taking into account comments, even though they may disagree with the poster, may be worth while.
If someone has managed to get others to comment and engage, it's likely to be a far more interesting post than one where someone is posting junk, self voting, bot voting and walking away with large reward pool share.
Yeah, the fact that this post still appears on your alternative page, i guess means it still needs a tweak or two :D (but awesome work - i've thought about developing something similar when i had time)
Have a look at this though: https://steemit.com/steem/@jerrybanfield/introducing-steem-power-backed-smart-media-tokens, the first two comments have high vote value, but are against the post, so it would need to factor in commenters who flag the post etc. There's no simple algorithm I don't think.
This view is only updated every 10 minutes too, as the Steem API is not great for this kind of thing at the moment.

It could be - I don't have the an efficient enough database index to support it at the moment though.
