Then God said "and now we will make human beings, they will be like us and resemble us.." (Gen 1: 26-31).
God made us beautiful, so we are beautiful by nature. God also gave us power over all the creatures he created and the wisdom to exercise this power. Men and women value this beauty given to us and spend time and energy nurturing it but some don't know that this beauty isn't just facially or bodily. Most people think that persons with fine faces or curvy bodies are the ones that are beautiful, they do not recognise beauty at heart.
God desires that our beauty be holistic both physically and spiritually because these add up to make a person. Those who pay more attention to physical appearance, jesus asks you today "did not God who made the outside also make the inside" (luke 11: 40) "it is what comes out of a person that makes him unclean" (Mark 7: 15-16). So one needs to harmonise physical beauty with one's attitude and character. Christ said "a healthy tree does not bear bad fruits, nor does a poor tree bear good fruits... Every tree is known by the fruit it bears" (Luke 6: 43-44). A good person out of the goodness of his heart does good but an evil person out of the store of evil in his heart produces evil. From within the heart comes evil thoughts like adultery, murder, blasphemy and theft. All these come from within and can defile a person but without these vices, the heart and soul is beautiful. God loves us all but on the last day he wouldn't look at our physical beauty but the beauty in our hearts and soul.
God has given us a model of beauty, one we should imitate,Children. Christ said in the book of Matthew "let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Christ jas said this because a child reflects innocence, purity, love, tenderness, happiness, trust, care, charity and humility. A child forgives easily, sees everyone as a friend and is never worried. Anyone who desires to be beautiful is expected to imitate these qualities in children.
HAPPY SUNDAY AND HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD
These are such refreshing words, @youngpablo! Yes, we should always remember that the beauty that is true beauty is on the inside, not the outside.
I love this, and I always try to remind myself to consider my Heavenly Father as a child does.
