THE GREAT ROCK

A man was sleeping in his cabin when suddenly a light illuminated the room and God appeared.

The Lord told him that he had a job for him and showed him a large rock in front of the cabin. He explained that he should push the stone with all his might. The man did what the Lord asked him, day after day. For many years, from the rising sun to sunset, the man pushed the cold stone with all his strength ... and it did not move, every night the man returned to his cabin very tired and feeling that all his efforts were in vain

As the man began to feel frustrated, Satan decided to enter the game by bringing thoughts to his mind:

«You have been pushing that rock for a long time, and it has not moved» It gave the man the impression that the task that had been entrusted to him was impossible and that he was a failure, these thoughts increased his feeling of frustration and disappointment

Satan said to him: «Why strive all day in this impossible task? Just make a minimum effort and it will be enough »

The man thought about putting this into practice but before he decided to raise a prayer to the Lord and confess his feelings:

«Sir, I have worked hard for a long time at your service. I've used all my strength to get what you asked for, but still, I haven't been able to move the rock even a millimeter. What's up? Why have I failed?

The Lord answered with compassion: «Dear son, when I asked you to serve me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your might, and you have done it. I never said I expected you to move it, your task was to push. Now you come to me without strength to tell me that you have failed, but did you really fail?

Look at you now, your arms are strong and muscular, your back strong and tanned, your hands calloused by the constant pressure, your legs have become hard.

In spite of adversity you have grown a lot and your skills are now greater than what you once had. True, you have not moved the rock, but your mission was to be obedient and push to exercise your Faith in me. That you have achieved. Now, dear friend, I will move the Rock »

Sometimes, when we hear the word of the Lord, we try to use our intellect to decipher his will, when in reality God only asks us for obedience and faith in him We must exercise our faith that moves mountains, but aware that it is God who ultimately manages to move them .

When people just don't understand you ...

When you feel exhausted and without strength ...

In difficult Moments ask the Lord for help and raise a prayer to Jesus to enlighten your mind and guide your steps. Give your fears to the Lord and ask him with a prayer that Jesus will help you find the path that leads to Him.
