What are the attributes of God?

The term ' attributes of God ' refers to qualities describing God, or characteristics of the divine nature, as God has revealed them to us in Scripture.

The Bible says to praise God for who He is, especially in prayer. Much of Psalms is a good example of this. Most people concentrate their praise in just a few areas, such as God’s love, and then spend the rest of their prayers asking Him for things. We need to praise God more for His greatness is beyond measures.

Omniscient God

Omniscience: “God possesses perfect knowledge and therefore has no need to learn. God has never learned and cannot learn.” Omniscience means all-knowing. God knows everything, and His knowledge is infinite. It is impossible to hide anything from God.

Omnipresent God

Omnipresent : God is perfect in that He transcends all space and spatial limitations, and is thus infinite with respect to space, with His whole Being filling every part of the universe and being present everywhere (not diffused through the universe, but present at each point in His fullness).
The universe cannot contain God (1 Kings 8:27; Isa. 66:1; Acts 7:48-49)

Jehovah-Shalom

God is Jehovah-shalom. This name means “the God of peace.” We are meant to know the fullness of God’s perfect peace, or His “shalom.” God’s peace surpasses understanding and sustains us even through difficult times. It is the product of fully being what we were created to be.

Trinity : Though the actual word is not used in the Bible, the truth of God revealing Himself in three persons is included. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all called God, given worship as God, exist eternally, and are involved in doing things only God could do. Although, God reveals Himself in three persons, God is One and cannot be divided. All are involved completely whenever One of the Three is active.

God is merciful: God’s merciful compassion is never ending and does not run dry. Through His provision in Christ, He took the judgment that was rightfully ours and placed it on His own shoulders. He waits and works now for all people to turn to Him and to live under His justification.

Omnipotent

God is omnipotent: God’s power is beyond measures. His power exceeds every power in the heavens and beneath the heavens. He does what He says He will do. He created this universe with His power. There is none like Him.

God is forever Great. Some call Him Emmanuel, some call Him Jehovah-tsidkenu, some also call Him Jehova Rohi.
