Weddings are emphasized in every religion. However religion gets divided into countries. And traditions spanning across various countries are different. Isn't that the beauty of ethnicity and cultures?

Steem church reminding me of religion, daily celestial challenge's structures theme and color challenge's yellow color inspired me to enlighten everyone here with the traditions of wedding in Pakistan. People celebrate weddings whole heartedly in Pakistan. There are numerous events. Each event is structurally, ceremoniously different from the other and not to forget offers different entertainment.

Mayoun is usually the kick start event to Pakistani weddings. It's theme is centered around yellow color. Mayoun is also known as dholki as the drum is played and singing and dancing takes place among relatives and friends. Traditional obligations are carried out on mayoun, such as the bride is fed sweets. Ladoos being the special sweet of the event.

Tumeric powder paste is lathered onto the brides hand and feet believing it'll "brighten" her skin. This is to fulfill the "beauty standards of bright skinned brides".

Compared to other events of a typical Pakistani wedding it is relatively a small scale event where only close relatives and friends are invited. The bride is to be ensembled in purely traditional shalwar kameez or sharara provided it's yellow in color. This event marks the commencement of a Pakistani wedding. Hope you all found this blog different and enlightened you of an event you didn't know of before!
