A child will always be a promise of the future, our duty is to help them grow in all the necessary aspects; Support them with love, and show them with our actions that are important for our future society.

Today I want to tell you about our Shelter House, located in a small agricultural town in the Sucre state of our beloved Venezuela. It is a Child Assistance Entity, which functions as Comprehensive Care Center. It is exclusive for boys and adolescents of male sex, and initially includes the sector of the population under eighteen (18) years of age, which require provisional care outside of their family group and / or their social environment because of the threat or violation of your rights or guarantees.

Currently, eight (8) children who were at risk are cared for, several lived literally on the street, among which three (3) of them respond to cognitive commitments and which require constant medical treatment. In this order, our specific functions for children and adolescents assisted in this Center, are: to protect them immediately and temporarily, ensure their education, guarantee their right to health by providing them with medical attention regularly and when they require it. Provide nutritious and balanced food in sufficient quality and quantity. Offer good treatment based on love, affection, mutual respect, and if possible, reintegrate the child and / or adolescent to their family group, or failing that, to a substitute home.

On this occasion, we find ourselves drawing smiles and showing love to our little ones, transforming their reality into positive thoughts and honest feelings, while we offer them a special lunch; effort of a great team of work consolidated exclusively to give them love and well-being. They need to feel in family, that they are loved and important. Therefore, no matter how demanding of work, but look happy faces.

Our objectives are clear and broad. Of great weight and value. Nowadays, it is a major challenge, since the situation that our country is going through is evident and, often, what our System of Government and Organisms can provide us with does not cover the multiple demands.

As a Social Worker and Director of this Shelter House, I can state properly that the work is hard and now with a doubly demanding character. Expanding our support coverage is essential at this time. We are establishing alliances in shops, supplier systems, pharmaceutical centers, utilities, ecclesiastical organizations, among others, in order to provide our children and adolescents with everything related to food, health, education ...). However, we believe that, with effort and work, with breadth of coverage, with the support of all as an active society, but above all, with the direction of God, we can achieve each and every one with efficiency and quality.

For our children and adolescents, for our country and society, let us unite, support them and mainly pray!
