RESTING IN GOD'S PRESENCE

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Good morning wonderful people of God! I trust we are having a good day? Just want to drop this little article with the hope of blessing someone with it! Ok the inspiration for this came first from the Holy Spirit and @sirknight post titled "if we can't see or hear God, how do we know he exists?

I woke up this morning and i asked myself, What is life without God's presence? Many a times we struggle, we toil and yet have nothing to show for it. We make some decisions which at the time seems like the best but yet it turns out to be the wrong choice!

Life without God's presence is nothing! God charged Moses with the task of leading the Isrealites out of Egypt and Moses replied saying I will not go unless your presence goes with me. God's presence is what secures a lifetime of rest. God's presence is what secures a lifetime of exploits!god's presence.jpg

                                           MISCONCEPTIONS OF GOD'S PRESENCE

Today most Christians seek the presence of God as a means to get His blessings! We remember God only when wwe are in need and then we fake a seeking of His presence. Moses understood the importance of God's presence that was why he said i will not go unless your presence go with me. The Israelites saw the presence of God as a means to freedom but Moses saw the presence of God as a place to dwell and rest in that was why he waited on God on the mountain while the Israelites made an image for themselves because they thought God has left them.god's presence2.jpg

Many a times our problems have made us desperate so we manipulate the presence of God. We manipulate the Holy Spirit as a means to get a miracle instead of using a miracle as a means to get to know the Holy Spirit.

We are like Israel that said God get us out of Israel but what they really wanted was freedom and not God but Moses used the Exodus as a means to know God even more!. When the miracle we want is the goal then by the time God is taking too long we tend to fall on the way side but when God is the goal no matter how long it takes we will wait on Him like Moses did on the mountain! Making God's presence and the Holy Spirit our number one goal takes away away form of despiration! It doesn't take away the problem but it takes our focus away from the problems by making it less important because God's presence and the Holy Spirit is far more important. ![god's presence3.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeJVdCyAMZyhMtuKbGP2GQchYo5wThGkApswCPjACqCBi/god's%20presence3.jpg)

The way to secure God's presence is through a life of worship. Worship is not just about a song but its a lifestyle. Worship is living a life of reference to God! Solomon worshiped God with his sacrifice and he secured God's presence. Men of exploits in scripture and even in modern times are men that lived a life of worship, a life of reference and total submission to God. ![god's presence4.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVzerdfAHMhLCnuTbiQWsP5UwLoAPx6Mu8NA5fxEpjeei/god's%20presence4.jpg)

when we live a life of worship we magnify God above all our desperation... we are saying in essence, God are the goal and not just a miracle. Matt.6:33 says "seek ye first the kingdom of God and all other things shall be added unto you". Jesus while teaching us to pray thought us first, worship(our father whom at in heaven hallowed be thy name) and then after kingdom advancement prayer(thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven) and thereafter what ever we ask he'll do even more for us.

He said seek me earnestly, with all tour heart and you shall find me. seek God and not what he gives! seek His presence and not what it brings! make God the goal and not the blessing and you will dwell in His rest all the days of your life. Shalom!!!![god's presence5.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTCwoc1BLjv4LbwirFga3bSotmh5a2PvarqiU1vobbKDs/god's%20presence5.jpg)
