The KJV Bible says in First Samuel 29:4:
Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed Him.
David in a bid to escape from the pursuit of Saul, ran back to the enemies of Israel.
In desperation, he begged the king to grant him political asylum.
He even agreed to naturalize.
But one of the king's political advisors advised the king against such blind sympathy. His reason was, David could betrayed them at the time of war.
People do a lot of unthinkable things under pressure. Desperation makes a lot of people make wrong decisions. Their reasoning under desperation is impaired.
As a result, whatever decisions or actions taken at such instances are mostly irrational. At the end of the day, they realise that they have made bad life changing decisions.
Some even go into witchcraft in a bid to protect their children. And they are promised protection from such cults. But they they realise not long after becoming a member, that they are to sacrifice that which they treasure the most- the same thing they came for protection for. And they are at a loss and have to give up their loved ones.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, not standeth in the way of sinners, nor seated in the seat of the scornful Psalm 1 vs 1
Whatever situation you may find yourself at the moment, don't take any rash decision. Joining a cult will only compound your problems.
Don't even consider becoming a nightcrawler because, the forces of the night will soon destroy you.
Entering into an oath with someone for protection is not even a good idea.
You don't belong there.
Why don't you cry unto God and ask Him to deliver you. Like David did in Psalm 54, call upon God and He will help you.
You do not belong to the company of the ungodly.
