Good morning friends, I promised to be writing on this topic in series. But I apologize for bringing this a bit later than expected. I hope you gain more from this piece as I continue from where I stopped last. To follow up easily, you can refer to my previous post on this topic. Thanks!
3. Becoming Jack of All Trade:
A person is known or identified by his trade. Running from pillar to post makes one to end up unqualified and confused. Even in the ministry, there should be orderliness.
Someone that is not focused and concentrating in perfecting a particular task has a divided attention, such is unstable.
The only ways of handling your trade, ministry or job perfectly in order to become a specialist and be known by your calling is summarized in the following steps:
*Discover Your Passion:
Let there be that particular thing that you can do passionately even without pay.
*Mentorship:
When you realize that you are ignorant in a particular subject, start to educate yourself by finding an expert in the field or find a book on the subject. Submit yourself under mentorship, be willing to learn from someone who has made it already, no matter his age or stature.
*Volunteering:
Volunteer to render your services when needed even when money is not attached. Have the mindset of working to learn and working for money, but seek to learn than to earn. This will equip you with readiness in case you are called upon anytime.
4. Submitting To Peer Pressure:
A lot of people today, mostly the younger generations are doing what they do, not because they would want or love to do them, but because they have associated themselves with the wrong group of friends who in turn, exert greater negative influence on them. These negative influences have resulted in promoting different vices in the society, even among believers. Such vices include:
*Cultism:
Cult groups are not charity organizations. No matter how packaged they are, the aim and objectives of such groups must keenly be fought to achieve which are; rape, prostitution, armed robbery, murder, kidnapping, terrorism, alcoholism and general violence. These crimes are not just an emergency events, they are well thought-out plans.
*Gambling:
Gambling is a game of chance. It is risking money or any valuable item in the hope of fast or sudden gain or profit on returns on investment. People fall into this enticing pitfall just because they are brainwashed that it is the surest, quickest and easiest way to make wealth. It is not so.
Engaging in gambling brings about laziness, backwardness, stagnation and failure in life and untimely ageing as a result of mental stress and depression. Overcome gambling by hardwork and engaging in positive ventures.
*Prostitution:
Prostitution is for self gratification resulting from the lust of the flesh. It is a sin against one's body. Our body is the temple of God where His spirit dwells. Defiling the temple of God attracts nothing but distruction.
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1Cor 3:16-17 [KJV].
Our bodies must only be used to glorify God.
We can only overcome peer pressure by being rooted in the word of God, disassociating ourselves from every group of persons (unbelievers) who are not heavenly minded.
Knowledge and insight is the prime foundation to a solid christian faith. Thanks for sharing with us.
