Matthew 6:14
**If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive
Forgiveness is the voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in attitude regarding an offense, lets go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an ability to wish the offender well.
Christ commanded us to forgive not for the good of the offender, but for our own good. Forgiveness helps our own growth and happiness because the hurt and anger affects the victim more than the offender. More over, our system responds to negative emotions and these negative emotions affect our physical and mental health adversely.
No doubt,it can be amazingly hard to forgive,
I've found myself in horrible cases but Christ forgave us,despite our sins and all the flithy flithy things we did before we found him. He forgave us and loved us,made us his own.
Considering Apostle Paul who persecuted Christ, Christ still forgave him.
Remember the bible urges us to be like christ so since he forgave us, we must forgive others. Its like an equation.
So I'll briefly share some key steps on how to forgive:
-Examine your anger and hurt.
-Pray to God about it
-Cleary state your greviances and hurt to the offender
-You have a right to know whatever it is you want to know.
Set new boundaries.
-Let them know that you are choosing to forgive.
-Lastly, Forgive and Forget.
Forgiveness changes the future
