Watch, Lest You Mess up

In our life journey, we need to keep watching ourselves always to know maybe we are still treading on the right part that will lead us to the fulfilment of our destiny and to our promised land.

There was the case of a strong man in the holy book named Moses. He was a man that was commissioned with the task of leading the Israelites to the promised land but due to one reason or the other,he messed up on the way.

Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them."
Numbers 20:12

Moses, whom God so much applauded for his intimacy with Him, still committed blunders. God confirmed the peculiarity of this meekest man in the world of his time.

However, with all these attributes as commendable as they are, Moses failed God, crucially. He was to speak God’s Word to the rock for the people to drink, but he angrily struck the rock twice; the rock representing the Rock of Ages! This is added to the fact that he called God’s people 'stiff-necked’ and ascribed the glory of bringing water from the rock to himself.

Dearly, beloved, we just have to be careful on our way to the Promised Land.

Do not allow anything that will debar you to enter your life. Persevere, endure, and obey God, totally.

Moses was deprived from entering the Promised Land because of those serious errors. Looking at Moses who had been working with God for years, one wonders why this would happen to him. Moses did not give honour to God in the presence of His people. Was God seeing what he did as a form of show-off in the presence of God’s people?

This is the more reason we should regularly examine ourselves if we are still standing on the standard of faith in Christ

God has no favourite that can’t be deal with if he/she messes up.

Many today are not honouring God with their lives, actions, reactions, inactions, and resources. It irks God when any of us, ministers of God inclusive, act as if we are the authors of those things God wrought through us, miracles inclusive. Don’t misfire.

Our political, traditional and church leaders need to always watchful in order not to abuse those God has placed in their care, so that they don’t face the wrath of God at the end.

We need patient coupled with the help of God to really get to our promised land.
