Amen says the bible the father who loves his son rebuke him with a rod, what happens God loves us unconditionally whatever our attitude is good or bad total all imperfect even though he loves us, but in his love he rebukes us, exhorts us to learn and let us reconsider the evil we are doing and what happens to us that we see it as bad we ask ourselves because in the long run we understand why God acted like this, everything is a lesson to teach us and not fall into the same hole again, God is our Father and he loves us that is why he constantly exhorts us.
